Drew McIntyre made a surprise return to WWE at Saturday's Money in the Bank PLE from London, England. The former WWE Champion had been off television for nearly two months.

Triple H addressed McIntyre's hiatus at the MITB post-show press conference. He's seen the reports that McIntyre has been away due to contractual issues, but says the speculation is unfounded.

According to Triple H, there's no rift between McIntyre and WWE. As far as he knows, the Scottish Warrior has been focusing on his health and recovering from injuries.

“It’s also a funny thing, the amount of speculation that happens around things,"
Triple H said. "I read stuff all the time that’s printed and put out there. ‘Sources say.’ 75% of it is completely off base. If Drew had an issue, it’s news to me. He was out with an injury and getting stuff fixed. While he was out, he had something else to get fixed so we did it, and here he is."

McIntyre returned at MITB to confront Gunther, setting up what's sure to be a hard-hitting feud between two of WWE's toughest heavyweights.

Triple H finished his remarks about McIntyre by calling him one of the top stars of this era. Whenever McIntyre decides to call it a career, The Game hopes he's part of the WWE family for the duration of his days of an active competitor.

"He’s an amazing performer. He is one of the highlight superstars in this era. Thrilled to have him back and hopefully, he’s here for the rest of his career.”
