Game Changer Wrestling has announced that All Elite Wrestling star Jeff Hardy will be making his debut for the promotion on Aug. 4. The popular independent wrestling company will be having an event at the Harpos Concert Theatre in Detroit, Michigan, the day before WWE Summerslam.

Hardy announcement of appearing at GCW My Name comes as a surprise to wrestling fans. He has rarely appeared at other independent promotions since signing with AEW. The possibility of Hardy competing for GCW created intrigue because of his style and the unpredictable matches the company likes to put on. GCW has earned a reputation for having a mix of high-flying, technical, comedic, and hardcore matches for their events that satisfies wrestling fans. While the speculation of Hardy mixing it up with some of GCW stars created intrigue, the company added after the initial announcement that he will not be wrestling.

GCW shared on Twitter that Hardy will appear on the show in some capacity and do a concert after the event at the venue but won't be competing. They have advertised that fans looking to see the GCW event and Hardy concert will have to pay for two separate tickets. Ticket prices for Hardy's performance for a single-person general admission are $30, while a two-person ticket purchase is $50 on Eventbrite.

As for the GCW event, the promotion is already selling tickets fast. The only tickets available are fifth-row ringside for $49.99 and general admission, which is standing room only for $29.99. However, Eventbrite has noted that only a few tickets are left. GCW only announced two matches for the event, with Lio Rush taking on "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Joey Janela taking on Komander.

GCW event comes at an exciting time for fans attending the show, as it will be the day before WWE Summerslam which takes place at Ford Field Stadium in Detriot, Michigan, on Aug. 5. Fans looking to attend the WWE Premium Live Event could also see GCW My Name Is and Hardy concert while tickets are available.

Summerslam tickets are still on sale on Ticketmaster, but it is looking like it could be a sell-out event. There are tickets for resale for as low as $91, but some standard-price tickets are available for as low as $150. WWE has yet to announce a match for the card but is slowly building toward the PLE.

GCW's event and Hardy's announcement could give fans looking to spend time in Detriot for Summerslam weekend something to forward to attending. Regardless, Aug. 4 and 5 will be a fun two nights for wrestling.
