Angry WWE Greatly Interested in Free Agent Nick Aldis

Could Nick Aldis be on his way to WWE?

The two-time former NWA World Heavyweight Champion recently wrapped up his time with IMPACT Wrestling, which he returned to in April of this year. At last week's Slammiversary event, Aldis unsuccessfully challenged IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley. It was reported this week that Aldis' short-term contract with IMPACT has expired and that he is a free agent once again.

PW Insider reports that “numerous WWE sources today confirmed that there is high interest in former NWA and Impact Wrestling Champion Nick Aldis now that he is free and clear." Their report adds that Aldis' name has been discussed internally for a potential producer role. If Aldis agrees to a tryout in the role, he could go through a trial process as soon as next month.

WWE had show interest in Aldis earlier this year, around the time of his departure from the NWA due to issues with Billy Corgan and his direction for the promotion. It was rumored at the time that Aldis could be part of the Men's Royal Rumble match, but that did not transpire. PW Insider's report did not state whether WWE had any plans for Aldis, 36, to wrestle.

WWE isn't the only option for Nick Aldis, as AEW has proven to be competition to Vince McMahon's Sports Entertainment juggernaut. Next month, AEW will travel to Aldis' native England for the promotion's first show on UK soil, and their biggest event ever. In November 2022, Aldis disclosed that he turned down an offer to join the upstart AEW in 2019 in order to remain with the NWA.

If he goes to AEW I am guessing he may wrestle there.
