Kurt Angle Believes Roman Reigns Could Shatter John Cena's WWE Title Record

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle reckons that Roman Reigns could eclipse John Cena's record in WWE.

John Cena is certainly one of the most successful pro wrestlers and he is a record 16-time World Champion in the company.

It was during the pandemic in 2020 that Roman Reigns began one of the most dominating title runs in the company. He turned heel for the first time since 2014 and joined hands with Paul Heyman to start a historic run in the company.

Roman Reigns soon captured the WWE Universal Championship after defeating Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt at Payback 2020. Since then he has been on an invincible run, beating some of the biggest names in the business including, including John Cena.
Kurt Angle feels Roman Reigns could surpass record of John Cena

Kurt Angle played a major role in John Cena's career. Cena made his main roster debut against 'The Olympic Gold Medalist.' Angle recently watched back the July 4, 2005 episode of WWE Raw on the most recent episode of his 'The Kurt Angle Show' podcast and noted that Cena had arguably one of the best careers in WWE history.

"John Cena, he was maybe two or three years in the business by this time, and here he is on top. I mean, this kid picked it up very quickly, and he had arguably the best career in WWE history. He did win sixteen World Heavyweight Titles in WWE specifically. No one's ever done that."

Angle's co-host, Paul Bromwell brought up the title reign of Roman Reigns. Angle feels 'The Tribal Chief' could surpass Cena's record. However, he believes that could be possible if he stays in WWE instead of joining Hollywood. Here is what Angle said:

"He's going to break the record. If he doesn't skip and go to Hollywood and become a movie star, which I think he's going to do."

On this week's edition of SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso have decided to face each other in 'Tribal Combat' at SummerSlam on August 5 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

I have a feeling he will skip to Hollywood. I do not see Reigns beating Cena's and Flair's 15 world championships total.
