AEW's Nick Wayne continues to make waves in the wrestling world ahead of his debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Wayne recently made his in-ring debut for AEW which came mere days after he turned 18. The wrestling prodigy had an impressive (though unsuccessful) outing against Swerve Strickland during the July 12, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite. Wayne would be confirmed as 'All Elite' shortly after his match.

With his in-ring debut for All Elite Wrestling now in the history books, Wayne is turning his attention to New Japan. It has been confirmed that Wayne will team with Jordan Oliver to face El Desperado and Mao at New Japan's All Star Junior Festival on August 19, in Philadelphia. On Twitter, Wayne reacted to the news, calling his debut for New Japan a dream come true.

The much-anticipated All Star Junior Festival will take place at the 2300 Arena, known to many for its history with the original Extreme Championship Wrestling. In addition to the four wrestlers named in the aforementioned tag-team match, the event will also feature talent from both in and out of New Japan.

NJPW talent confirmed for the show include YOH, Master Wato, Hiromu Takahashi, Rocky Romero, and DOUKI. Shun Skywalker and Dragon Kidd will be representing Dragon Gate at the event. Blake Christian of GCW has also been announced, while Mike Bailey will be representing IMPACT Wrestling.
