Kevin Owens has a legitimate injury that will keep him out of action, a situation that does not bode well for his and Sami Zayn's tag title reign.

WWE ran an angle on the July 24 edition of WWE Raw that involved the Judgment Day attacking . While Raw was on the air, WKRD Wrestling reported that Owens is legitimately injured and the attack storyline was a way to write him off television.

On Tuesday morning, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Owens' injury on Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer reports that Kevin Owens has a fractured rib.

"He's actually been working on it for a while and it was just one of those things where they were waiting for a time to finish up...'

Meltzer said Owens is going to "get a rest" and expects WWE to address the situation over the next few days.

Owens and Zayn are the current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. They defeated The Usos at WrestleMania 39 in the main event of night one to win the titles and end a nearly year long story with The Bloodline.

The duo was drafted to Monday Night Raw in the 2023 WWE Draft and have since defeated Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa, Pretty Deadly, and others.

We should find out in the next few days if they'll remain champions while Owens gets healthy.
