Angry NWA World Women's Champion Kamille Confirms Role In Mildred Burke Biopic

NWA World Women's Champion Kamille will feel right at home playing a former Women's World Champion as part of the Mildred Burke biopic.

Taking to Twitter, Kamille revealed that she will be playing June Byers in the upcoming film that will focus on the legendary Burke. Byers was a rival of Burke in the 1940s and 50s and had a controversial, hard-hitting two-out-of-three falls match against Burke in Atlanta in August 1954. The bout would not go to the third fall, but the Atlanta Athletic Commission eventually awarded the match to Byers.

A three-time Women's World Champion, Byers entered the ring during World War 2 in 1944, and would become a fan favorite of her era, even appearing on popular game shows of the time including 'What's My Line?' and 'I've Got A Secret.' Byers retired in 1964 following a car accident, passed away in 1998 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 as part of the Legacy Wing.

The upcoming Mildred Burke biopic will see Emily Brett Rickards, best known as Felicity Smoak in Arrow and other DC Comics-related projects, playing Burke herself.

Others confirmed for the film include Deborah Ann Woll as Gladys “Kill ‘Em” Gillem, Francesca Eastwood as Mae Young, Josh Lucas as Billy Wolfe, Marie Avgeropoulos as Leona “Babe” Gordon, Kelli Berglund as “Alabama Bombshell” Nell Stewart, Martin Kove as Al Haft, Walton Goggins as Jack Pfefer.

WWE Superstars Liv Morgan and Charlotte Flair have also been confirmed for the 'Queen of the Ring' biopic.

I am looking forward to this movie. She has quite the story to tell. First ever NWA Women's champion.
