Saw X, the 10th installment in the franchise from from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, released its official red band trailer Saturday.

John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back in this film, which is the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s final games. Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.

The film stars Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand and Michael Beach, as well as the billion-dollar horror franchise’s Jigsaw Killer, Tobin Bell. Veteran Saw cast member Shawnee Smith is also circling the project, as we told you. The 10th installment of the franchise shot in Mexico City with local talent including Renata Vaca (Midnight Family), Paulette Hernandez (Crown of Tears), Joshua Okamoto (VGLY) and Octavio Hinojosa (How to Survive Being Single).

Kevin Greutert directs based on a screenplay by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. Mark Burg and Oren Koules are producing. The Saw franchise has minted over $1 billion at the global box office.

Saw X is set to debut in theaters September 29, having been moved up from October 29.

Trivia:

Shawnee Smith reprises her role as Amanda in this film. She was last seen in "Saw VI" (2009).

This film is set in Mexico. It is the first, in the series, to be set outside of Canada after the original Saw (2004) which was filmed in Los Angeles.

Was originally scheduled to be released on October 27, 2023. On July 20, 2023 it was announced that the film would open on September 29th instead.

Is the first "Saw" film since "Saw VI" (2009) to have a Roman Numeral in its title.

Is the second film in the series to not be released in October.
