Andrzej Hughes-Murray has wasted no time making his presence known in WWE NXT after making his in-ring debut this month.

Hughes-Murray signed with WWE in June as part of a class of Performance Center recruits and joins WWE with a background in football. Prior to WWE, Hughes-Murray was a former Oregon State college football player and in 2022, he signed with the NFL's Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. Others signed as part of this class include University of North Florida basketball player Ezekiel Balogun, former Iowa State University track & field star Vlad Pavlenko, and former University of Wisconsin tight end Coy Wanner.

Hughes-Murray made his in-ring debut during the August 19, WWE NXT live event. According to WrestleTalk, Hughes-Murray would lose his wrestling debut match against Gallus member Joe Coffey. Coffey competed on the most recent episode of NXT TV against Tyler Bate. The match was cut short when Dabba-Kato emerged and destroyed Bate with his devastating sit-out powerbomb.

Hughes-Murray wasn't the only notable star at the August 19, NXT Liver event in Tampa, Florida. The Schism's Ava Raine also made her singles debut at the event, where she defeated Ivy Nile. The fourth-generation Superstar had previously only competed in tag team matches alongside members of The Schism. Championship gold was on the line at the event, with NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton retaining against Valentina Feroz while NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes would close out the night by retaining against Joe Gacy.
