"A new NJPW World is coming this autumn!"

That's the headline that NJPW used to announce long-awaited upgrades to the streaming service.

In a press release posted on Sunday, NJPW announced that "fans will be able to enjoy content on dedicated iOS, Android and Roku TV apps, sample content in full HD, download video content to watch offline, as well as benefit from improved search functionality and a suite of UI/UX improvements."

Current subscribers will automatically be transitioned over. Fans that have purchased pay-per-view events will automatically have them uploaded to their library. This includes Forbidden Door 2021 and 2022, Toru Yano Presents YTR! VTR! Granping with CHAOS parts 1 & 2, and Toru Yano Presents Mini YTR! VTR! in Anjo.

Fans who currently use NJPW World's app on Amazon Fire TV will not be supported after the updates. Those fans will need to download a new Amazon Fire TV app. For subscribers who are connected via Amazon for their monthly payments, your "accounts will be cancelled around mid-September, with automatic payments ceasing thereafter."

The current archive will be available with the new system. Once content starts to migrate, there may be a delay in the content being uploaded.

With changes to the streaming service comes changes to the price point. The current price is ¥999 JPY for fans in Japan and internationally. The price will increase to ¥1,298 JPY in Japan and internationally. The international price point of $9.99 USD will apply to new accounts only.

Other questions are addressed in the press release. The exact date for when the updates will occur hasn't been announced. Given the information about Amazon subscribers, it appears that the changes will begin sometime around or after the middle of this month.
