Chad Lail popularly known as Jaxson Ryker in WWE and Gunner in IMPACT has chosen a new career.

Ryker started out as a professional wrestler in 2001. He worked in the independent circuit and in 2010, he signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, now known as IMPACT Wrestling.

He eventually went on to sign with WWE in 2017. He joined forces with Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler and this led to the formation of The Forgotten Sons in NXT. Following a decent run in NXT, they were called up to the main roster and they joined SmackDown in 2020. They had a short run on the blue brand. However, they were taken off the programming after Ryker made a controversial tweet about then-President Donald Trump.

Ryker later joined Raw and aligned with Elias. They were involved in a short-lived feud and Ryker was ultimately released amid budget cuts in November 2021.

Lail officially retired from wrestling following his last match at AML Wrestling on August 27.

In a post on Instagram, he shared the news that he is going to start a new chapter in his life. He revealed that he has become a County Sheriff in Iredell Country, North Carolina. Lail wrote that being sworn in at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on September 14 was an honor. He further stated that he wanted to wear the badge and uniform with pride. Here is what he wrote in the caption:

"What an honor. Yesterday September 14 2023 I was sworn in at the Iredell County Sheriffs office. New chapter. New career. May I always wear this badge and uniform with pride."
