We have an injury update regarding NJPW star Mercedes Mone and some other stars including El Hijo del Vikingo and Bandido.

Mercedes Mone is currently sidelined with an injury that took place during her match against Willow Nightingale at NJPW STRONG Resurgence. Ahead of AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door II, fans were expecting Mone to compete at the event. This would mark her first time competing in AEW.

Her in-ring debut for AEW would have happened but unfortunately, the injury altered the plans. Mone did make her presence felt at AEW All In in London when she appeared in the crowd. Mone previously said she could be working AEW Full Gear. Now, a piece of good news has emerged on Mone.

Mercedes Mone seems to be closing-in on a return to the ring. As per Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mone is no longer wearing the walking boot she was using during her recovery from the ankle injury.

However, the exact timeline for her return is not known. Dave Meltzer believes it's likely that Mone will continue working for NJPW and STARDOM while also performing for AEW.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter has also provided health updates on El Hijo del Vikingo and Bandido, who have both been out of action due to injury.

Bandido had sustained a broken wrist back in June during an AEW Rampage taping. He is reportedly a few weeks away from being cleared.

On the other hand, Vikingo hurt his hip at an ROH taping last month. He has already returned to action but it was stated that he is “hurting a lot.” Vikingo wrestled at an event this past Saturday in Dallas, TX but took himself out of the match early. The rising star also competed at AAA’s Heroes en Mortales the following night.

We will have to wait and see when these stars manage to fully recover.
