This week's AEW Collision not only saw several title matches take place but also saw Jon Moxley & Malakai Black return to programming.

The October 21, AEW Collision was the eighth 'Battle of the Belts' event, though no titles changed hands. ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe defeated Tony Nese, while AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander defended against Willow Nightingale. AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy retained against John Silver while AEW Trios Champions The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass defeated Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Daniel Garcia.

In the opening match of the night, Bryan Danielson faced Andrade El Idolo in their first one-on-one encounter in AEW. After a hard-fought contest, Danielson got the victory.

Post-match, the pair shared a handshake and Andrade raised Danielson's arm in the air. The lights went out as Bryan was on the second rope celebrating. When they came back up, Malakai Black was in the ring and he laid out Danielson with the Black Mass. While the Blackpool Combat Club rushed to the ring to help Danielson, the lights went out again and when they came back up, Black was gone.

Later in the show, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli challenged AEW World Tag Team Champions Big Bill & Ricky Starks. Once again, Black, alongside Brody King and Buddy Matthews, made their presence felt, ultimately costing the Blackpool Combat Club the win.

A post-match assault saw the House of Black attack Wheeler Yuta, and not even Bryan Danielson or FTR (whom the House of Black had attacked earlier) could turn things around. At long last, Jon Moxley walked in through the crowd to a big pop and he and the babyfaces were able to clear the ring of the heels to end the show.
