Bryan Danielson will be out of action through the end of the year due to an injury he sustained on Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Danielson teamed up with Claudio Castagnoli to face off against Orange Cassidy and the returning Kazuchika Okada. The match was electric, but it took an unexpected turn. During the bout, Danielson clutched his face in pain after a blow and was subsequently examined by doctors.

The diagnosis was a broken orbital bone, which was confirmed on the latest episode of AEW Collision. Castagnoli addressed the situation in a backstage segment, and commentators later confirmed Danielson would require surgery.

Unfortunately, this situation is legitimate and not part of a wrestling storyline.

Danielson's wrestling journey has been filled with ups and downs, from triumphant moments to heartbreaking setbacks. In 2016, he was forced to retire due to a neck injury, only to make a return to the ring in 2018. Earlier this year, he found himself on the sidelines once again due to injury.

This is also not the first timethat Okada and Danielson have crossed paths with painful consequences. They met in the main event of June's AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Danielson got the victory and earned bragging rights to call himself the greatest wrestler of this generation, but sustained a fractured forearm in the process, sidelining him for several months.
