Could CM Punk's future in the ring be as part of IMPACT/TNA Wrestling? It's possible if he follows one simple rule.

Since being released from AEW last month, Punk has remained a free agent in the industry. Despite teases of Punk making it to WWE TV, the promotion is reportedly not interested in working with the former AEW World Champion who walked out following the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Earlier this year, Punk was backstage at a taping of IMPACT Wrestling, where he was said to be in a good mood. The former World Champion was again in jovial spirits when he attended the post-Bound for Glory tapings, where he spoke with several top stars in the company.

With Punk getting close to those in IMPACT, some have speculated that he could sign, perhaps in line with the company's rebranding to TNA Wrestling next year. Appearing on What Do You Call It?, Scott D'Amore had no issue with Punk's potential arrival.

"Would we be open to having CM Punk join IMPACT Wrestling? Of course. Why wouldn't we? You look at the business he drove for WWE and you look at what he did in AEW, he lifted AEW and ticket sales went up, viewers went up, pay-per-view buys went up."

D'Amore said that Punk, and others, are more than happy to visit an IMPACT/TNA Wrestling taping, as long as they can behave.

"There is one simple rule. Don't be an A-hole. Be respectful and you'll be respected. Punk, when he showed up earlier this year, was a pleasure to have in the locker room.

"When he asked if he could come the day after Bound For Glory, come by the TV and say hello and watch some of the show, we said, 'Of course.' He came back and again was a pleasure to have."

As controversial as he is, Punk is one of wrestling's top names and it's not just IMPACT/TNA that would welcome him with open arms. NWA President Billy Corgan has vowed that Punk would have a lot of fun, even if he can't pay Punk what Corgan believes he's worth. WWE NXT head Shawn Michaels has said he would "of course" welcome Punk if the situation arose.
