MJF may have spent months (if not years) teasing a move to WWE, but that won't be in the future of the AEW World Champion.

During his time as an ultra-heel in AEW, MJF would often tease leaving for WWE to rile up AEW's faithful audience. The reigning AEW World Champion has referenced notable WWE figures in the past, including Vince McMahon, Triple H, Nick Khan, and his close friend Cody Rhodes.

For all of MJF's talk of a 'bidding war' it seems that this conflict has already come to an end. MJF is believed to have quietly re-signed with AEW, according to several WWE sources who spoke to Haus of Wrestling. One higher-up said that there have been "zero talks" between MJF and WWE about a potential contract. The consensus within WWE is that MJF's new AEW deal will see him under contract into 2027 and that any talk of being a free agent anytime soon is a "false narrative."

One WWE source described MJF's potential bidding war as "a completely in his head storyline." Another source said that they are "1,000%" sure that MJF has signed a new deal with AEW. That source added that he is under a long-term deal, hence why there have been fewer mentions of his contract expiring next year.

On AEW programming, MJF shows no sign of leaving the company anytime soon. At Full Gear, MJF retained the AEW World Championship against Jay White. The win also made MJF the first AEW World Champion to surpass a year with the title.
