Swerve Strickland vs Adam Page for the match against the AEW Champion at Revolution

They give it a big match feel by having the show start off directly without music and then show each man coming from backstage through the entryway.

The crowd is on Swerve’s side, as they have been all through this feud.

After how violent their matches have been in the past, they start slow with a pair of long lockups where neither man gets an advantage. As Swerve takes over, the crowd is booed whenever Page gets a big move. They HAVE to listen to these crowds and flip Page to heel, since the crowd already hates him. You need to steer into the skid to take control, otherwise it’s like the years of trying to make Roman Reigns a beloved hero.

Page is in control on the floor, and I like the Swerve is in charge in the ring and on his back foot on the floor. They move into the ring and Swerve takes over as they have a chop fest in the corner and they go back and forth. They move to finishing moves and I realized they haven;t had the 15 minute commercial break, so they look to be running this match without commercials. Good move by AEW.

Swerve dodges a buckshot and then hits one of his own and follows with a stomp for a two count. Out of the three matches these men have had, this is by far the best because it's not filled with blood and shenanigans. Just a hard fought match where both men look tough and we actually go to commercial at 23 minutes.

When they come back, the fight continues, and after Swerve gets a stomp while Page in in the tree of woe, and Page lays on a table set up at ringside and it collapses. Swerve sets up a second table. They go back in the ring so we’ll probably get the table spot after all. We are then given the 5 minute call.

Swerve takes a buckshot and does a complete flip with it and Page covers for two and Swerve grabs the bottom rope. Page hits a deadeye on the apron, which I hear is the hardest part of the ring. They fight on the outside and Prince Nana gets a chair shot. Swerve gets a Swerve Stomp and sells that he landed on his ankle wrong.

They move to the side of the ring with the table and fight on the apron. Swerve hits a deadeye from the apron through the table. The fight moves into the ring and Swerve gets the JML driver and covers with the bell ringing at the two count, so we’ll be having a three way dance for the title.

Winner: Time Limit Draw

Swerve grabs a mic and says he didn't go through everything for it to end like this. He calls for five more minutes. Page says he had to beat him to be the number one contender (Page under him in the rankings….um…) and he didn’t get the job done.

Tony Schiavone has a message from Tony in the back and it is not done. Now we have two number one contenders so it IS a three way match for the title. Page is yelling “He didn’t beat me” and Swerve is in the ring, laughing.

Backstage, Joe tells Renee that neither of those men deserve to be in the ring with him and no matter what, he will walk out AEW World Champion at Revolution.

Deonna Purrazzo comes out to join commentary.

Toni Storm (AEW Women’s Champion) w/Luther and Mariah May vs Red Velvet in an Eliminator match

Anthony’s laptop has died, so it’s all on me!

Red grabs a waistlock and then moves to mat wrestling quickly. Storm works to her feet and they go to arm bars. Storm gets a side headlock takeover and they work their way to her feet. They run the ropes and Storm gets a shoulder tackle, but Red gets a leg lariat and they move to the corner when Red gets in kicks.

Storm gets a Thesz press out of the corner and a sky high for two. We go to picture in picture and Purrazzo’s commentary is conventional as she talks about how she doesn’t understand the change in Storm while discussing the match. Here’s the thing, not only is Storm’s new character a blast, but her ring work is still excellent. It just shows that if you combine the two, you get a star.

When they return to full screen, they are trading blows and Red beats Storm into the corner. Red gets a drop kick, and follows with a casadora into a bulldog. She hits double knees to the back and follows with a standing moonsault press for two. Storm trips Red when she charges into her, and then hits a hip attack into a DDT for two. Red gets a quick rollup for two, and kicks the knee, but Storm grabs an ankle lock and glares at Purrazzo as she holds it. Red has to tap out.

Winner: Tony Storm

Storm won’t let go of the hold until Purrazzo gets in the ring. They get in each other’s faces, and Luther gets between them to break it up.

We then get Renee with the Best Friends and the Best Friends, and Cassidy will defend against Ishii, and has a Trios match for Friday. Cassidy says he’s happy to have the matches and they will be checking on Chuck Taylor right now.

Jon Moxley, Byran Danielson, and Claudio Castagnoli vs Hechicaro, Volador Jr, and Mascara Dorado

Out of the week the CMLL wrestlers have been in AEW, Hechicero has impressed me

Bryan and Hechicero start the match, they start immediately with leg picks and mat wrestling.

Nice sequence of hold/counter hold.

Claudio and Dorado are tagged in, and Dorado tries chops and Clauidiop brushes them off.

They move to speed vs strength and Dorado shows a lot of high flying moves

Mox and Volodor are tagged in and they trade blows in the middle of the ring

They run the ropes and Volodor hits a tejaris on Mox, and then follows with a dive.

All six men jack jaws on the floor but Mox and Volodor go back into the ring and Mox is able to get a dive on Volador and all six men start fighting as we go to picture in picture

When we return to full screen, Claudio gives Volador the big swing and Mox covers for two.

Mox and his team keep Volador in the ring with quick tags.

Dorado tags in and runs wild.

All of the Blackpool Combat Club is sent to the outside for front he CMLL guys

Everyone gets a finishing move on the last person when they return to the ring.

Hechicero gets a stretch muffler on Bryan and Mox breaks it up as all six men are in the ring.

We are left with Claudio and Hechicero, followed with a ref bump. Claudio gets a low blow with the knee and then covers Hechicero for the pin and the win.

Winners: Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Cluadio Castagnoli

Three more CMLL luchadores come from the crowd, and Christopher Daniels, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard join the BCC to drive them from the ring.

In the back, we see Undisputed Kingdom attack Chuck Taylor

It’s Time For The Major Announcement! Thanks guys!

He says that March 13th in Boston will be AEW Big Business! It’s a night the entire business will remember! And um….that’s it.

Next time, why not say Tony Khan has a Big Tease!

Chris Jericho vs Konosuke Takeshita w/Don Callis and Powerhouse Hobbs

They run the ropes and run into each other and then both nail each other at the same time. Jericho clotheslines Takeshita over the top. Callus slaps Takeshita to motivate him and Jericho dives into him. They brawl at ringside. They return to the ring and Takeshita beats down Jericho. Jericho gets shoulder tackles and then a flying axe handle off the top. Hobbs grabs Jericho’s leg and Takeshita drops Jericho. Sammy Guevara nails Hobbs with a chair, which he ignores, and they brawl at ringside.

Jericho hits a drop kick, sending Takeshita to the floor. Jericho grabs Takeshita’s match and dives onto Takeshita at ringside as we go to picture in picture. When we return to full screen, Takeshita hits a Firemans’ carry slam and follows with a drop kick knocking Jericho’s head into the ropes. Takeshita hits a dive onto Jericho on the floor and then rolls him into the ring.

Takeshita goes for a senton, and Jericho gets the knees up. Jericho goes for a lionsault and Takeshita gets the knees up. Takeshita drops Jericho when trying to lift him, and then hits a big suplex from that position. Takeshita’s strength can be scary. They run the ropes and Jericho gets a codebreaker for two. Takeshita gets a blue thunder bomb for two, because that move has never, ever won a match.

They trade strikes, and Jericho puts Takeshita on top. Jericho joins him and Takeshita drops down from underneath the drops Jericho onto the ringpost face first and follows with a avalanche blue thunder bomb for two. Taekshita misses the big knee and Jericho locks in the walls. Callis slides in a chair and as the ref is getting rid of it, Callis nails Jericho with a screwdriver. Takeshita locks in the walls and Jericho has to tap out.

Winner: Konosuke Takshita

Ricky Starks and Big Bill (AEW Tag Team Champion) vs Sting and Darby Allin

Sting’s family is at ringside, so they are telegraphing the ending, IMHO.

We have two referees and it’s just a brawl at ringside. Sting and Starks go into the crowd and Darby and Bill fight at ringside. Darby and Bill go into the crowd as well, with Darby on Bill’s back. Darby is fighting Starks and Bill in an entryway with Sting on top of it and he leaps onto Bill and Starks. They go picture in picture as the crowd chant “You’ve still got it.”

When we return to full screen, Darby dives into a slam by Bill. Darby is rolled into the ring and Bill knocks down Sting at ringside. Starks tells Bill to take out Darby. Bill goes for a chokeslam, but holds onto Darby and chokes him on the mat. Bill then hits an over the top backward slam.

Bill pulls out a table and Starks directs traffic. Sting has gotten into the ring and Starks tells Bill to hit a press slam. Sting sends Starks into Bill and Sting fights off Bill and Starks. Bill stars firing back on the side of the ring with the table. Bill goes for a big boot and Sting dodges, with Bill on the top rope. Sting skates the rope. Starks goes for a scorpion death drop, but Darby breaks it up. Starks is tossed to the outside.

Sting and Darby hit splashes on Bill and then Darby hits a code red. Bill goes to the floor and takes a coffin drop from the top. Starks gets in the ring and Sting gets the scorpion death lock. Bill gets in the ring with Darby on his back, but Darby gouges his eyes and they both go through the table at ringside. Starks gets to the ropes, but there are no ring breaks. Starks pulls free with the ropes. Sting tries for a splash. But the buckle pad is gone and Starks dodges so Sting hits the exposed buckle.

Starks gets a spear for two. Sting grabs the second spear and hits the scorpion death drop for the pin and the win.

Winners and NEW AEW Tag Team Champions: Sting and Darby Allin.

The family enters the ring to celebrate with Sting and Darby. The Young Bucks hit the ring with bats and take out Sting, Darby, and Sting's sons. Darby is busted open as the beatdown goes on and the blood shows up on the Bucks’ white suits.
