Steve McMichael has been taken to the hosptial due to a suspected case of pneumonia as family and friends are asking for prayers for the future Pro Football Hall Of Famer.

Jarrett Payton, son of the legendary Walter Payton, took to X to let fans know of the unfortunate news.

"We are asking for prayers for Steve McMichael. He is going to the emergency room now with suspect pneumonia. We will inform you as we have more updates. Thank you . - The McMichael Family. Team Mongo."

McMichael is currently battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) something he was diagnosed with in 2021.

It was just over a week ago when Steve "Mongo" Michael would finally get the news that he'd be inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame along with two other former Chicago Bears players. The news officially broke during last week's NFL Honors ceremony.

Mongo notoriously played a primary role in the vaunted Super Bowl-winning 1985 Chicago Bears defense. McMichael is the second all-time sacks leader in Bears history and in addition to having a Super Bowl ring, he's a four-time All-Pro and a two-time Pro Bowler.

McMichael clearly has made his friends in the NFL, but he also formed a very strong friendship with Ric Flair. Flair has been steadfast in visiting McMichael since his diagnosis and has been supportive of his fellow Four Horsemen.

Mongo was a memorable member of the famous faction, winning the United States Championship while he styled and profiled along the Nature Boy.
