We have an update on former WWE star Billy Jack Haynes following a fatal shooting that took place earlier this month.

Haynes was arrested after cops were called to his home in the Lents neighborhood of Portland. After the gunfire, authorities were called. Haynes "eventually came out" of the house and was taken into custody following a lengthy confrontation with the offices.

Haynes was brought into prison two hours later. During the standoff, everyone in his neighborhood was told to stay inside their homes. Although the identity of those involved were not disclosed in the initial reports, it was later claimed that Billy Jack Haynes was the one arrested and that Janette Becraft, his wife, was the one discovered dead, purportedly as a result of a shooting.

Haynes is still in the hospital and he hasn't been formally detained or prosecuted in connection with his wife's death.

Reports have emerged that Haynes will be charged with the murder, but they are going to be filed the moment he is discharged from the hospital. He is currently in at a local hospital where he is receiving medical attention.

PW Insider reported:

"Charges are forthcoming once Haynes is released and can be booked into jail and face arraignment."

Haynes had been a massive popular star in the Portland territory and worked with the WWF/E in the late 1980s, in WCW (under as mask as Black Blood) as well as in Florida, World Class Championship Wrestling. Other promotions include Jim Crockett Promotions, New Japan, and other territories.

Haynes departed WWF in early 1988 under some controversy. It is claimed that Haynes quit the WWF after declining to do a job in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Another version of his exit states that he wrestled the match and agreed to the finish but he was fired afterward.

We will keep you updated when more details of the situation emerge.
