    IWF RETURNS TO DEARBORN!

The IWF (Insane Wrestling Federation) make a triumphant return to beautiful downtown Dearborn, Michigan for its first event of the new year, "GROUND ZERO"! On Saturday night, February 10th, 2007 (belltime TBA) the brightest stars on the independent wrestling scene converge on the new home of the IWF: ELKS LODGE 1945 (located at 25000 Michigan Ave just west of Telegraph Rd.).

SABIN VS. CABANA TO HEADLINE "GROUND ZERO"!

Total Nonstop Action standout and Michigan native CHRIS SABIN will make his long awaited return to the Insane Wrestling Federation on Feb. 10th and has demanded a shot at current IWF Heavyweight Champion "Classic" COLT CABANA!

Cabana took time out from this week's hectic Wrestling Society X tapings in Hollywood (the show airs starting this January on MTV) to let IWF officials know that he would be accepting Sabin's challenge. Cabana also wants it known that he has no plans whatsoever to lie down for the former X-Division champ. Cabana says 2007 will be "The Year of Cabana throughout the wrestling world." Cabana followed by remarking "Hey, brother, I don't care where he wrestles or who signs his paychecks... bragging won't make Chris Sabin the new IWF champion. If Sabin wants my title belt, he's going to have to prove himself to me AND the fans in the ring."

Chris Sabin has come a long way since his IWF debut at the Al Matta Hall in 2002. Finishing 2006 and entering 2007, Chris Sabin is now recognized as one of the top wrestlers in the world and a serious contender for several major championships including the IWF title.

Sabin was quick to respond: "I'm walking back into the IWF and taking my spot! The spot I deserve! The top spot! Colt, you think you're so funny with your big stupid face and that cocky grin. We'll see who's grinning after you experience The Future. I'm tired of waiting, and for the first time in my life, I'm making things happen no matter who has a problem with it. On February 10th, I'm adding the IWF Championship to my already overflowing trophy case because THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!"

IWF Officials have confirmed Chris Sabin's appearence at GROUND ZERO with TNA talent coordinator Bill Berhens and, of course, with Sabin himself. Saturday Feb. 10th 2007 is set to become an important date in IWF history.

    NEW MATCHES SIGNED!

In addition to the already signed mega main event of IWF Heavyweight Champion Colt Cabana vs. TNA star Chris Sabin, the following blockbuster matches have been signed for GROUND ZERO:

    * The NEW ORIENT EXPRESS (Pat Tanaka & Dylan Knight, with Candilynn) make their IWF debuts against the dangerous duo of THE SOUL SHOOTERS (Drew "Tha Don" Johnson & "Poison" Apollo Starr)!

Many remember former AWA World Tag Team Champion Pat Tanaka from his days in the WWE, WCW, ECW, All Japan and even Juggalo Championsh*t Wrestling, and he will bring his veteran skills to the table along with a brand new partner to face off with the tag team that's motto says it all - Tap Before You Snap! Can The New Orient Express make a dent in the tag team ranks of the IWF or will The Soul Shooters put another win in their highly successful win/loss column?

    * In a rematch for the Midwest Heavyweight Title, new Midwest Champion CJ OTIS defends against former champion "The Symbol of Excellence" CONRAD KENNEDY III!

In what many are calling a major upset, Otis was able to capture the Midwest Gold at a recent WPW event from CK3, ending his 4-month long title reign. While CK3 has held many championships, this marks the 1st major title win for the rookie Otis. Will CJ be able to withstand the pressure of holding a historic major title and prove his win was no fluke, or will CK3 be able to win back what he claims is rightfully his? Those questions will be answered at Ground Zero!

    * In a Major Grudge Match, "The Old Timer" JEFF KING will finally get the match he's been demanding for months...a one-on-one singles contest with his arch-nemesis, "The Hooker" LOU THESZ!

The Old Timer, who claims to have worked in numerous territories and been in the wrestling business for over 40 years, looks shockingly like a 20 year old kid. But that's not the point. The point is that King claims the former multi-time NWA World's Heavyweight Champion has been ducking him for years and years and he wants to give Thesz the beating that's apparently coming to him.

BTW, Thesz passed away in 2002. But that's not the point. Is there a point? Who knows? The most important question though is what does King have up his sleeve for GROUND ZERO? We'll be sure to find out when it's The Old Timer vs. The Hooker Feb 10th in Dearborn!

Plus, already signed for GROUND ZERO:

    * the wild and crazy Death Match King known as THE NECRO BUTCHER along with his diabolical manager CHRIS "The Fly" MONROE

    * Current and 19 Time ICW/ICWA Tex-Arkana Television Champion "Sweet n Sour" LARRY SWEENEY

    * Former WWE/TNA Star "The One Legged Wonder" ZACH GOWEN

    * Former JCW World Champion "Richie Boy" BREYER WELLINGTON

    * XICW Xtreme Intense Champion "The Most Dangerous Man in Michigan" THE DBA

    * More matches and more stars to be announced soon as the new year approaches!!

    COMMENTARY FROM AT HUCK

It's been one trying year. We had four shows at the American Serbian Hall in Detroit! Very good shows, with some of the best talent in the country. These events didn't draw as many fans as we hoped to say in the least.

That being said, we've set out to find a new location that would be most suitable for the fans. The Serbian Hall is a very nice building - probably better than any that we've been in so far, but in a location not perceived as safe by some.

Thus, a new building was found. The 1945 Elks Lodge, at 25000 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn MI, just west of Telegraph! A date WAS set for Saturday, January 13th.

But, when it came to the task of booking all the wrestlers for that date...just about everyone I contacted was already booked or has/had yet to respond. Not only that, but CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI along with ROBERT ANTHONY (a.k.a. Ego Fantastico) of The Midwest Mafia both signed WWE developmental contracts recently. The IWF Heavyweight Champion Colt Cabana and Chris Hero are also being looked at by World Wrestling Entertainment. Time is running out!

I've decided to push the date back one more month to Sat., Feb. 10th. This will give me more time to look for suitable replacements to add to our roster. Be excited as some new faces and some old faces will be added to the IWF's Feb. 10th return to Dearborn!

Things are about to change in a big way for the IWF. Sat., Feb. 10, 2007 will literally be "Ground Zero".

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE SOUL SHOOTERS

The SOUL SHOOTERS are two hard hitting, jive talking, submission specialists. From the South Side of Chicago, IL and the rough streets of Buffalo, NY emerge two of the most charismatic, athletic, and versatile up-and-comers the sport of Pro Wrestling has seen in a very long time. Drew “Tha Don” Johnson and “Poison” Apollo Starr are super stars just waiting for their big break. There is no doubt in anyone's minds that these two are headed straight for the top of the IWF.

Drew Johnson started his career by getting trained by wrestling legend LES THATCHER, with additional training by "Surfer" CODY HAWK and MATT STRYKER. Thatcher has also trained indy stars Matt Stryker, BJ WHITMER, NIGEL MCGUINESS, Cody Hawk and NWA-TNA stars CHAD COLLYER and SHARK BOY. Johnson is following right along in their footsteps to wrestling stardom. This former AAU National Champion in both Freestyle and Greco Roman can mat wrestle with the best of them. His big powerful frame makes it hard for any foe to maintain an advantage. He has put many of his opponents to sleep with his Mafia Kick and his Roaring Elbow. You’ll be hard pressed to find any one who can escape his "Soul Stretch".

Apollo Starr made his start by being trained by THE AMERICAN KICKBOXER (aka Izzy High). Apollo’s drive for greatness led him to the doors of the HWA and Les Thatcher. Apollo took his already above average shoot skills and turned them into a deadly arsenal of submission holds and knock out strikes. He is deceivingly quick and is not afraid to lock up with anyone no matter the size. His stocky frame and low center of gravity allows him to use leverage against a larger foe and power against a smaller one. Just like his partner's "Soul Stretch", Apollo's "Toxic Shock" is virtually impossible to escape.

These two pure athletes can be seen all over the Midwest. They train and push each other very hard. Their training sessions against each other are so intense that they have trouble finding guys who will train with them more than once. The Soul Shooters are the real deal, and are ready to make an impact in the Insane Wrestling Federation.

IN-DEPTH RESULTS FROM IWF's "SUPREMACY" EVENT

Results of IWF Supremacy from 7/14/06 at the American Serbian Hall in Detroit saw:

    1. JIMMY JACOBS pinned EDDIE KINGSTON with an inside cradle after blocking Kingston's brain buster attempt in 6:31. After the match Larry Sweeney rushed the ring as he was doing guest color commentary and he and Kingston laid the boots to Jacobs. Zach Gowen came out to help Jacobs and fought Sweeney and Kingston off with his cane.

    2. EGO FANTASTICO used a backdrop driver to pin MIKE HUTTER in 9:28

    3. RAYMOND ROWE won a handicap match over the masked tag team of MULCH & FODDER, spearing both men into each other then following up with a half nelson suplex for the double pin in 2:16.

    4. PAPA DON beat The Family's SONNY SCARBONI in 7: 42 with a German suplex despite interference on the outside from fellow Family member VINNY SCARBONI.

    5. ZACH GOWEN fought "Sweet 'N' Sour" LARRY SWEENEY to a no-contest in 5:00 as all hell broke loose. Kingston and Jacobs were at ringside in their respective corners. Jacobs blocked both Kingston and Sweeney from trying to use Zach's limb again to steal the win. All four men were in the ring and Jacobs shoved down referee PEE WEE MOORE out of frustration. In the end, this time Sweeney laid Jacobs out with Zach's leg and Kingston bashed Zach with his own cane. Jacobs and Zach then challenged the two to a Bunkhouse Match on the next show.

    6. THE NECRO BUTCHER was victorious in the "Three the Hardway" hardcore match over ADAM FLASH and DJ HYDE. During the match, Hyde brought a ladder into the ring which everyone used against each other. Flash was able to hit his "Last Call" flying leg drop off the ladder onto Hyde but he got caught by Necro with the Asiatic Spike submission in 8:38.

    7. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI beat MANA THE POLYNESIAN WARRIOR with a school-boy pin in 7:38 after a match restart. At first, it looked like Mana won after using his club when the ref didn't see it, but Chris Hero came out to protest. After the match, Hero was attacked by Mana who injured his leg on the ring post.

    8. SHIIMA XION beat SHANE STORM in 4:05 with a stunner.

    9. THE SOUL SHOOTERS (Drew Johnson and Poison Apollo) beat THE IRON SAINTS (Sal and Vito Thomselli) in 8:22 to become a top contending team to the still vacant IWF Tag Team Titles.

    10. In the Main Event, IWF Champion "Classic" COLT CABANA in his 2nd title defense defeated CHRIS HERO by submission in 17:21. Hero's leg was bothering him but both men gave it their all with back and forth action and mat wrestling. The match was stopped at one point when Hero's leg buckled on the top rope as he tried to go for a moonsault as the ref was concerned for Hero's health. Hero asked FRANTIC FRANK that the match be continued as he didn't want to lose like that. Frank said he would allow it as long as Colt and the ref agreed to Hero's decision as well, which they did. Both men shook hands after it was all over.

    CAPW TAG TITLE MATCH CONFIRMED

While we do have a slightly abbreviated Newsline this week due to the holiday week, theres still no shortage of breaking news coming from the CAPW front offices. Recently confirmed and added to our Seasons Beatings card to take place Sunday afternoon, December 3 at Turners Hall in Cleveland is a tag team title defense of our current champions, Christian Faith and Vincent Nothing, collectively known as Faith in Nothing. This duo has been absolutely on fire since gaining the tag titles several weeks ago, but are preparing to step foot into the ring with one of the longest-standing and most dangerous tag teams ever in Cleveland: Too Cool Abdul & Dick Trimmins, Da Munchies. Abdul & Trimmins have embraced their new me-first attitude in recent months, focusing on inflicting pain at all costs, no longer caring with their numerous long-time fans think about their sick transition. Da Munchies path of pain leads them to the tag titles, and based on their track record of late, have a very strong chance of dethroning Faith in Nothing, whom the fans seem to have adopted as the NEW most popular team in CAPW, and gaining the CAPW Tag Team Titles.

JT LIGHTNING SOUNDS OFF ON UPCOMING TAG MATCH

Earlier this month, JT Lightning & Chris Cronus engaged in quite the heated encounter with Tiger Young & The Aftermath. It started as a wild brawl that spread throughout the entire building, to the point where the referee had no alternative but to throw the match out. Once the fracas was finally separated, a verbal battle began, and the stage was eventually set for the wild uncontrollable no-disqualification war well see on December 3. However, during the war of the words, JT Lightning at one point issued a challenge for a cage match, only to quickly take the offer off the table moments later. We recently caught up with Lightning to elaborate on exactly why he would change his mind

Its plain and simpleTiger Young & Aftermath dont deserve the notoriety that comes with wrestling me inside a cage, and more importantly, all those hillbillies that come to CAPW shows sure as hell dont deserve to see a cage match. Do you hear the disrespect they show me every month? I come out there and try to be a nice guy, and all I hear is JT sucks! JT sucks!. Well all I have to say to those fans is this: Your boys Tiger & Aftermath are gonna pay for your sins, because I dont need a cage to beat some respect into those punks, or better yet, run them outta wrestling altogether. And when Im done maybe Ill slap around some of you rednecks just for the fun of it!

JT Lightning & Chris Cronus WILL meet Tiger Young & Aftermath, December 3 in a no-disqualification war. Be forewarned, this conflict could spread all over the building, because there is nothing that can contain the rage these four currently feel for each other.

UPDATED CARD FOR SEASONS BEATINGS DECEMBER 3

CAPW returns to Turners Hall, 7325 Guthrie Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, to present CAPW Seasons Beatings, Sunday afternoon, December 3, with a 4 p.m. belltime. For more information please visit www.CAPW.net

    Already announced...

    Monumental Six-Man Tag
    Christopher Daniels/Zach Gowen/M-Dogg 20 vs. Josh Prohibition/Johnny Gargano/N8 Mattson
The issues surrounding Jr. Heavyweight Champion Johnny Gargano and his top three contenders: Zach Gowen, M-Dogg 20, and Josh Prohibition have only intensified in recent weeks. Gargano has formed an unexpected alliance with Prohibition, as they work together to attempt to rid the Jr. Heavyweight division of their toughest competition and fiercest rivals. Prohibitions was instrumental in helping Gargano defeat Zach Gowen in very dubious fashion. Gowen was quick to retaliate, tripping Prohibition with his cane during Joshs match with M-Dogg 20. As a result of these escalating issues, both sides were given the opportunity to find a partner to back them up, and settle it in the ring face-to-face. Prohibition & Gargano recruited one of the true greats of the Ohio/Michigan area in the Amazing N8 Mattson. However, M-Dogg & Gowen had the perfect counter, TNA star The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Unquestionably six of the very best around today will collide in what is sure to be a classic, and could very well determine who the toughest Jr. Heavyweight is today.

CAPW Championship: Claudio Castagnoli vs. ???
Since capturing the title last summer, Claudio Castagnoli has turned away no challenge and backed down from no fight. From Chris Hamrick to Nigel McGuiness to many others, Claudio has constantly held back the challenges of the best in the world. Claudio continues to show that same fighting spirit, as he has issued an open contract to any man to challenge him for the CAPW Heavyweight Title. Theres no telling who will answer the call or when, but whomever decides to challenge Double C may be in for one of the longest nights of their careers. Television champion Jason Bane has already petitioned CAPW management for this match. Will his request be granted and if not who will step up to challenge Claudio?

?CAPW Television Title: Jason Bane vs. Tracy Smothers?
Smothers is a 24 year veteran who has been everywhere in the world and won championships hand over fist. However, with Rhino, Buff Bagwell, and a host of others already on Banes quickly growing hit-list, is there any man who can stop the most prolific TV champion in CAPW history? However, Banes request to challenge for, and potentially re-unify the Heavyweight Title with the Television Title have placed this match in jeopardy. Whether or not Tracy receives his title shot, and what hes prepared to do if he doesnt, is very much up in the air

Grudge Match: JT Lightning & Chris Cronus vs. The Aftermath & Tiger Young
The issues surrounding The Aftermath & Tiger Young and their opposition JT Lightning & Chris Cronus, along with advisor Krystal Frost, resulted in one of the most chaotic incidents in CAPW history recently. Lightning & Cronus took offense to their younger counterparts challenging them to a tag team match, and it did not take long for things to degenerate into a barbaric brawl that spanned just about the entirety of Turners Hall. The official had no choice but to throw the match out completely and rule it a no-contest, although it mattered not to the four men battling each other. As a result of the out-of-control nature of this rivalry, the rematch has been signed but with a special provision: there will be NO count-outs and absolutely NO disqualifications. There will be a decisive winner on December 3 as the upstarts hope to make a big name for themselves by overcoming the dominant pair of ex-tag team champions, but it will not be easy and it WILL be a wild out of hand melee.

    Q&A vs. Irish Airborn
Recently we announced that Virus & Unknown were making their return to CAPW following a several-month absence due to a serious shoulder injury to Virus. The team has regrouped, is refocused, and prepared to attempt to regain the tag team titles. However, its going to be a difficult task gaining momentum from the get-go, as they face one of independent wrestlings brightest shining teams. Jake & Dave Crist, collectively known as Irish Airborn burst onto the CAPW scene earlier this month, and already established themselves as a major threat to the tag titles. These two very innovative teams will collide in a match with major effects on CAPWs tag team rankings.

Classic Championship Wrestling Presented Another Action Packed Tuesday Night Of Professional Wrestling!!!

Thanksgiving week brought out the standard sell-out crowd to Portland, as Classic Championship Wrestling provided yet another action-packed line-up to the CCW Arena. While the NFL may have Thanksgiving proper, CCW doesn't need a holiday to continue their tradition of the hottest independent wrestling action in Kentuckiana today.

    First Match: One-On-One Match:
    The Regulator vs. Matt Maverick,

Tonight's opening contest featured the big man from Detroit versus a Matt Maverick who, in this writer's opinion, is just one step away from taking his career in CCW to the next level. While Maverick tried to wear down Regulator from the start with a variety of moves, including a big plancha to the outside, soon the Regulator was back in solid control, brawling away on Maverick.
Working on instinct by this point, Maverick tried to get back into the swing of things with a spinning heel kick, but the big man was not to be denied, and after a huge flapjack maneuver, The Regulator was back on his way to the Motor City with another win to his credit. While Maverick may have found himself on the short end of the stick tonight, there is no arguing with the new focus and determination he has been showing in the last few weeks. I've said it before...I'll say it again...keep an eye on Matt Maverick, folks.

Winner Of The Match: The Regulator

    Second Match: Tag Team Match:
The Brute Squad-(Guido Andretti & Randy Royal) vs. Jebediah Blackhawk & "Playboy" Scott Hayes,

The Brute Squad hit ringside with the CCW faithful firmly planted against them, no big surprise there, looking to keep on track with a win over the team of Jebediah Blackhawk and newcomer "Playboy" Scott Hayes. While The Brute Squad can still lay a solid claim to the #1 contendership for the CCW Tag Team Championship, the stable has seemed just a touch shaky in the last couple of shows, and a win over the impromptu team was just what they would need to stay in the thick of the title chase.
Royal and Hayes started out, and after a beautiful series of exchanges with Royal (and to some extent, Andretti), Hayes had the capacity crowd not only in the match, but rowdy as well as Jebediah Blackhawk entered the action. From there, it would be all Blackhawk and Hayes. The Brute Squad didn't so much look lost, but they were definitely having a hell of a time gaining any kind of edge offensively.

A well-timed rake of the eyes would allow the Brute Squad to mount their first serious offense of the match, as Royal and Andretti's double-team tactics would lead to several near falls on Hayes. The Brute Squad continued to keep the heat on, until a double clothesline left both Hayes and Andretti struggling to make it back to their respective corners.

With order breaking down at this point, Royal would take advantage of Senior Official James Hardin's distraction to wedge a chair into one of the corners, but this plan would backfire, as a reversed irish whip by Blackhawk would send Andretti headfirst into the chair, setting him up for the pin by Blackhawk! The tension between Royal and Andretti was more than evident at the conclusion of this match, leaving some to speculate as to the future of this promising stable.

Winners Of The Match: Jebediah Blackhawk & "Playboy" Scott Hayes

    Third Match: One-On-One Match:
Elmore Fudd w/Mrs. Elma Fudd vs. El Oro Guapo w/ Tim The Baker,

Elmore Fudd found himself across the ring from El Oro Guapo, a mysterious masked grappler the ever-present Tim the Baker tracked down on one of his trips to the pastry district in Tijuana. Unfortunately for the newcomer, Fudd brought his time-tested playbook with him, punishing The Baker's new find with a calculated precision that spoke volumes to Fudd's experience and ring presence. No contest. All Elmore Fudd. El Oro Guapo never made it out of the gates.
While Elma Fudd was at ringside, as always, you couldn't help but notice she had an arm slinged up. I caught up with CCW's most dangerous couple backstage after the show, and Elmore informed me she had been injured in a hunting accident. When I inquired further, all she would say was she ran out of shells, but you should have seen the shape she left the bear in. All efforts to reach the bear were unsuccessful.

Winner Of The Match: Elmore Fudd

    Fourth Match: One-On-One Return Match:
The Prophet w/JesseBelle vs. "The Black Redneck" Kliff Hanger,

The crowd immediately went hostile as the familiar drum beat thumped the walls of the CCW Arena, announcing the arrival of The Prophet, who along with JesseBell, looked to take a Thanksgiving win home with him over "The Black Redneck" Kliff Hanger.

Starting off strong at the opening bell, Kliff Hanger stormed out, showering Prophet with enough moves to thoroughly keep his bigger opponent off-balance. While Prophet would regain his footing, as well as take control in the match, it was more than evident that this match, no matter how long it was to last, was going to be an out and out war.

As the match wore on, Prophet continued to apply pressure, trying to find the key to defeating Kliff Hanger, one of CCW's most revered competitors. A good window of opportunity would present itself, as Kliff Hanger's attempted double underhook suplex led to a collision with the referee, allowing JesseBell to once again interject herself in the action, attacking a helpless Kliff Hanger with Prophet's peace pipe, as the warrior chief held his opponent up for her. One time too many, JesseBell would discover, however, as Kliff Hanger managed to duck a final swing, leaving Prophet to take the shot.

While Kliff Hanger would recover to hit the Koal Miner Kick for the pin, that would not be the end of the controversy between these two, as Prophet called out Kliff on his supposed "cheating" to gain the win, challenging the Black Redneck to a falls-count-anywhere match for the following week, as The Prophet looks to cement his claim as the #1 Contender to the CCW Heavyweight Championship. Don't even bother trying to pick a winner on this one, ladies and gentlemen. Neither man will ever be confused with being a pushover, and with a falls count anywhere stipulation, the sky is the limit for the mayhem that could be unleashed when they face each other in the ring again.

Winner Of The Match: "The Black Redneck" Kliff Hanger

Fifth Match: CCW Heavyweight Tag Team Title Match:
Apollo & Cujo w/Felony Foxx vs. The Fat N' The Furious-(Jack Black & Vito Andretti),

Live action resumed with a Tag Team title showdown, as The Fat N The Furious put the belts on the line against Apollo of the HNIC, teaming with Cujo. Throw in Felony Foxx, a manager best described as violently beautiful in Apollo and Cujo's corner,
and the reigning champions definitely had their work cut out for them in this encounter.

The FNF looked to keep things simple, using quick tags and double team moves to keep Cujo racing to keep up in the early goings. That would be the order of business, even after Apollo entered the match, until a veteran move by Cujo, low bridging Jack Black, opening up the powerhouse to an onslaught by the makeshift challengers. With Felony Foxx providing her more-than-able brand of assistance at ringside, the challengers looked to be firing on al cylinders as they took solid control over the champs. While Black briefly rallied, planting Cujo with a huge powerbomb from the corner, it would still not be enough to reach Vito Andretti for the tag, as Apollo was right on the money with a cheap shot to Andretti, drawing him in outside of a tag to preserve the challengers' momentum.

As the match continued on, Felony Foxx would once again find a way to make herself a factor in this match, as her team went to work on the left leg of Black, desperate to take away the big man's vertical base. Only by the intervention of fate, disguised as a BlackOut from out of nowhere, was Black finally able to tag in Andretti. Andretti, who had been chomping at the bit to tag in for a good majority of the match, exploded out of the gates, and after evening the odds in the match, The Fat N The Furious looked for the reversal of fortunes. They wouldn't have to look far, as Apollo and Cujo would be swept up in the tides, and following an irish whip of Apollo into the huge boot of Black, Andretti would score the pin on the HNIC member following a cross body block.

Winners Of The Match and Still CCW Heavyweight Tag Team Champions: The Fat N' The Furious

Sixth Match: CCW Heavyweight Title Match:
Flash Flanagan vs. "The Old School Player" Dynamite Derrick,

Flash Flanagan, a long-time favorite in the Derby City from his years highlighting rings throughout Kentuckiana (including some memorable appearances at the legendary Louisville Gardens), made his way back to climb into the ring for a shot at snatching the CCW Heavyweight title from around the waist of "The Old School Player," Dynamite Derrick. While Derrick's star has been shining brighter each week since capturing the belt, ask any fan in the CCW Arena and they will tell you the same thing - the ten pounds of gold sure hasn't improved his attitude much.

However, the crowd was in for a shock, as not only did Derrick and Flanagan shake hands before the match began, they embraced like long-lost friends reunited after far too long. This would bring out an enraged CCW Commissioner Chris Alexander, who wasted little time in informing Flanagan that he was signed to wrestle Derrick, and that was what was going to happen. Arrogantly, Flanagan then turned and knocked out the referee, instructing Alexander to disqualify him instead!

This would bring out "Smooth" Johnny Spade, along with Miss Holly Wood, as Spade said he would take care of Flanagan, who had already pocketed an envelope from Derrick, and mid-ring, no less! It didn't take long for Alexander to agree, as he was still steaming over the latest antics from the CCW Champion

    Seventh Match: One-On-One Match:
Flash Flanagan vs. "Smooth" Johnny Spade w/Miss Holly Wood,

Flanagan versus Spade would be a main event-caliber match in any indie promotion you could name, and this impromptu main event collision would prove to be no exception. Both men possess the experience, ring presence, and the big match mentality and the combination of the two guaranteed the fans would not be disappointed, no matter who was actually supposed to have wrestled the match!
Flanagan would show the edge he carried in the experience department, using a breather on the outside to bait Spade into a cheap shot once he re-entered the ring. As Flash went back to his bag of tricks, Dynamite Derrick was right on Spade's heels, throwing his two cents' worth in at every opportunity.

Never far from a rally at the behest of the fans, Spade would mount a comeback, but it was a prelude to more shenanigans, presumably the work of Dynamite Derrick. Senior Official James Hardin would be involved in a collision with Spade and Flanagan, and in the aftermath, Felony Foxx and Cujo would return to ringside, with nothing but bad intentions on their minds.

Foxx's interference on the outside would lead to a catfight with Miss Holly Wood, no big surprise there, as neither woman is particularly shy about getting involved in a match. As they battled it out on the outside, Derrick would use the distractions to his advantage, opportunistically sliding into the ring to level Spade with a vicious chair shot, leaving Spade easy pickens for the pin by Flanagan for the win!

As with most matches involving the CCW Champion (whether or not, it turns out, he is an opponent), the bell would not be the end of the action. Cujo would manhandle Miss Holly Wood into the ring, leaving no doubt to anyone in attendance what the plan was. In the past few weeks it has been pretty fair to say that if Spade is a marked man, Miss Holly Wood has caught a little of that bulls' eye herself. Before things could turn ugly for the petite blond, Biff Wellington III would race out with a chair of his own to make the save!

Winner Of The Match: Flash Flanagan

As 2006 starts to wind down, several things remain clear:
-While Dynamite Derrick has already shown that he will stop at nothing to keep the CCW Heavyweight Championship around his waist, Commissioner Chris Alexander will have to find a way around the continuous plotting by the Champion, which has been easier said than done. Derrick's shown the fans that even though he was a fan favorite until the end of the summer, he is more than capable of using situations to his advantage, and until something can be done, the stranglehold on the CCW title is "The Old School Player's" to break.

-Even though the tag team division is starting to heat up, The Fat N' The Furious are clearly the team to beat. The CCW Tag Team Champions have established themselves as the dominant tag team over their run in CCW, and it will be interesting to see who provides the strongest challenge for the belts into 2007.

-Look for some big things from a couple of CCW stars, whom the fans may be underestimating just a bit, most notably Elmore Fudd and Matt Maverick.

-The Prophet vs. Kliff Hanger: Sleeper feud of the Year for 2007?...could be...their match tonight appeared to take their rivalry to another level, and if either man can break through and take the CCW Championship, expect a new series of classics between these two.

    This just in:
-Catching up with CCW Owner Marcus and "Commissioner" Chris Alexander following the show, it is hard not to be impressed with the direction the promotion is heading. The last few odds and ends are being taken care in anticipation of the upcoming TV tapings, and they also gave me the scoop on negotiations to bring in former WWE Tag Team Champion John Heidenreich for some dates in the near future.

NWA-PWX News "POUNDING IN THE PARK" SATURDAY DECEMBER 9th - 7:30 pm

    The NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE
    in association with
    PRO WRESTLING EXPRESS
    and
    ATLAS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
    presents another night of
    "POUNDING IN THE PARK"
    SATURDAY DECEMBER 9th- 7:30 pm
    at the
JACOB WOLL PAVILION - McKEESPORT, PA

NWA Pro Wrestling Express returns to action on Saturday
December 9th at Renzie Park's Jacob Woll Pavilion in McKeesport, PA at
7:30pm. Tickets are only $12 for ringside, and $10 general admission.
Kids age 12 and under are only $6.

    Bouts already signed include...

    NWA-PWX HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
    "MR. 21st CENTURY"
    CHRIS TAYLOR
    DEFENDS THE TITLE AGAINST
    "SPOTLIGHT"
    SCOTTIE GASH
Chris Taylor is the NWA-PWX Heavyweight Champion, an achievement
that he has claimed was his destiny. Taylor cleanly pinned both
Brandon K and Devin Devine in title matches after hitting them with
his devastating "Diamondcutter" . On the opposite side of the ring
will be a former holder of Taylor's title, "Spotlight" Scottie Gash.
Gash had a long reign as champion, but never received his rematch
after losing the championship last December. Now, one year later, he
gets his chance. Gash has an impressive list of recent victories of
his own, and on November 11th, only a technicality kept him from
becoming the Three Rivers Champion. Will the "Spotlight" have what it
takes to bring the area's oldest and most storied championship back to
PWX, or will Taylor and the AWC continue to reign supreme?

    THREE RIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
    PAUL ATLAS
    DEFENDS THE TITLE AGAINST
    BLUE DRAGON
Paul Atlas has reigned as Three Rivers Champion for the better
part of a year. He is the ring general and team leader of AWC, and
one of the most decorated wrestlers in Pittsburgh wrestling history.
The Blue Dragon is on an amazing winning streak. At first, it seemed
as if he was becoming a standout among the "young lions", but now it
has become more than that. He has consistently overcome every
obstacle placed in front of him by the AWC, and on November 11th
earned a decisive victory over a former NWA-PWX Heavyweight Champion
when he pinned Nikita Allanov. Now Dragon faces the challenge of his
life, when he squares off with the cornerstone of Pittsburgh
wrestling, Paul Atlas in a Three Rivers Championship match. Atlas has
used the Three Rivers Championship as his leverage in establishing the
Atlas Wrestling Company in PWX, and has managed to hold on to the
championship by any means at his and Curtis Stevenson's disposal. It
is put up or shut up time for Dragon, as the streak is broken December
9th, or he walks away with Three Rivers gold.

    BRASS KNUCKLES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
    DASH BENNETT
    DEFENDS THE TITLE AGAINST
    "Syko"
    SEAN DAHMER
After over a year as a tag team, Dash Bennett finally took his
frustrations out on a stalled career on his partner "Syko" Sean
Dahmer. It is no secret that Dahmer is a few bricks short of a wall,
and that Bennett was a calming factor. But Dahmer proved his
toughness on November 11th, when he came up short in a match with the
explosive Crusher Hansen, but only after taking eleven shots to the
head with a rock hard steel stop sign. Dash Bennett pulled an amazing
upset, and pinned Sabotage to win the AWC's newly established Brass
Knuckles Championship, and perhaps validating his claims of being held
back by Dahmer. Dahmer immediately made his feelings known, laying
out the champion. Bennett has demanded a match with his former
partner, to settle the score once and for all. Will Bennett have
enough in his arsenal to put down Dahmer, or will Dahmer finally prove
he has what it takes to compete in this sport?

    NWA-PWX TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
    DEVIL BHUDAKAHN & JAKE GARRETT
    the DEVIL'S ADVOCATES
PUT THE TITLES ON THE LINE
The Devil's Advocates came up short in two singles matches
against JB Destiny and QB Blitzz on November 11th, and thus the
challengers earned the rights to yet another title match. That
challenge now appears to be impossible to answer, and Blitzz has gone
down to a serious injury, and will be on the shelf for 2-3 months. Is
there another team that can step up to the plate and challenge for the
most prestigious tag team championship in the area, or will the champs
    get a night off?

    plus...

Plus, more of your Pittsburgh wrestling favorites will be in
action, including "King of Men" DEVIN DEVINE, "Soviet Shooter" NIKITA
ALLANOV, "Platinum Status" DAN MILES, "First Klass" BRANDON K,
    "Hangman" CRUSHER HANSEN, and more!!!

Stampede Wrestling: Nattie Neidhart In Action

The first half of the November 10th card for Stampede Wrestling is now streaming on-demand at StampedeWrestlingTV.com! Three new matches are now available complete with a brand-spanking-new intro!

The first bout pits former partners and friends against each other: Michael Avery and Dusty Adonis, former members of The "A" Team and now bitter enemies finally square off one-on-one! Both men obviously feel they have something to prove to each other and to the fans and hold nothing back in this all-out assault! As well, in this episode, Dusty all but admits to split personalities. You'll find out what we mean in the first minutes of this week's show....

The second match is an inter-gender match-up pitting Young Lion Alex Plexis against Nattie Neidhart. Nattie's return to Stampede of course causes one of the show's commentators to raise a few questions, although he really doesn't expect an answer.... The match itself serves to really showcase Nattie's talents and abilities in the ring and you should find this match a treat to watch.

The main event of this episode is a title match that gives El Blanco Negro Dragon a chance to grab the British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight title off of the current champ, Ravenous Randy. Get ready to Rawk The Hawk as the "Cock of the Walk" not only tries to defend his title, but has a few words for a little Indy wrestling fed out of the North Eastern USA at the end of the match. apparently this little three-letter company has two wrestlers working for them on two different little shows who seem to have ripped Randy off....
