    Detailed Report

It was a night of changes at Impact Zone Wrestling's latest show, at The Sets
in Tempe on Tuesday night. The first one was new ring announcer, 'Outcast'
David Taylor, looking very dapper in his suit, and claiming that back-to-back
losses to Hollywood Yates had left him fed up of fighting, so he was on
    the mic tonight.

The opening contest saw the return of crowd favorite and former tag champion,
Ryan Lynch. However, he was facing top heavyweight contender Shawn 'Bad Seed'
Osborne, who was clearly upset at being relegated to the opening bout. He
tore into Lynch, and demolished him in short order, perhaps leaving the
returnee wishing he'd taken another week off. But the statement Osborne made was
clear: he still believes he is among IZW's top wrestlers.

Next up was a match with more than the usual at stake. After prising Flood
off a defenseless Lucha Reigns, 'Miracle' Mike James had put his beloved
locks on the line, challenging Flood to a "Hair vs. Mask" context, in which the
loser would have to sacrifice their very identity. Needless to say, with so much to
play for, both men gave their all, both in and outside the ring. At first, it
looked like Flood had won, but the head referee spotted James's foot on the
ropes, and the match was restarted. This time, James came out on top, and
despite Flood's pleas, stripped him of the mask and flung it into the crowd,
sending his opponent scurrying out, hands over his face.

Peter Goodman came out next, berating the fans, the authorities and, well,
just about everyone in the state of Arizona. Inevitably, his mortal enemy,
Cowboy Jack Durango, came out and tried to get to Goodman - surprisingly, the
Californian apparently agreed to a match. But first, it was one of his
henchmen, Tyrell Hunter, facing another longtime Goodman nemesis, Lil' Nate. Nate
had the edge in speed, while Hunter had Goodman acting as an inevitable distraction.
But it was another outsider, Mr. Showtyme, who flatted Nate while the ref's
back was turned and Hunter exploited the opportunity, pinning Nate.

In the contest that followed, Payed Daily, with Sheik Samir Hussein, faced
Hollywood Yates, who had Erica D'Errico in his corner. Hollywood made the
early running, but Payed is renowned for his strength and stamina, and fought his
way back into the match with some hard-hitting moves of his own. However,
it was Yates who came out on top - or, at least, he won the bout. After the bell, on
the other hand, he was brutally assaulted by Shawn Osborne, while D'Errico
    was kept from helping him.

The audience was geared up to see Peter Goodman vs. Jack Durango next, but
Goodman, with glee, told Jack to read the fine print, where it said
Goodman was actually fighting *Mrs* Jack Durango. Adrenelyn's horror on hearing this was
apparent, and Jack's anger too, but there was no escape. While initially,
this was as one-sided as you'd expect, Goodman seemed to have forgotten his
opponent used to be IZW Women's Champion, back before she married Jack.
Gradually, she remembered her skills, and Goodman found himself with a fight on his
hands. Finally, Adrenelyn managed to pull out a remarkable victory over a stunned
Goodman, who tried to save face by demanding a real contest with Durango
    at the next event.

Mr. Showtyme defended his Western States belt against Lucha Reigns, and tried
to take an early advantage by rushing the ring. But the Mexican was ready for
him, and was soon using his superior speed to great effect. Showtyme fought
back, intent on keeping the title, and came close to doing just that, the
bout swinging his way whenever the pair got to grips. Tyrell Hunter attempted to
help out, trying to use the belt on Reigns, but this may have backfired -
soon after, Reigns landed a perfect moonsault to capture the first championship of
    his career.

Finally, the main event saw GQ Gallo take on Lawrence 'XXX' Tyler, with the
federation's crown jewel, the IZW Heavyweight Championship, on the line. The
ring was immediately abandoned, Gallo taking Tyler on a path of
destruction all round The Sets, which soon saw Tyler busted wide open. Blood spattered those
in the vicinity as Gallo hurled him from pillar to post, until the champion looked like a demon from hell. But Tyler's tenacity is legendary throughout the wrestling business, as Train found out at the previous show - Gallo had no more luck putting the belt-holder away.

Finally, a frustrated Gallo resorted to using said belt, despite multiple warnings from the referee. He was immediately disqualified, but Tyler objected, saying that wasn't how he wanted things to end. After consultation with the audience, IZW owner Justin Roberts gave the two men five more minutes to
finish the contest properly. Tyler, having bided his time, pounced, pinning Gallo
and holding on to the title, albeit at the cost of some blood and plenty of sweat
    - if, in this case, few tears.

The next IZW show takes place at The Sets in Tempe (SE corner of Southern and
Mill) on May 9th. Admission is $7 for all ages, and the doors open at 7pm.
