CONTROVERSIAL American pop artist Pink makes no apologies for sparking heated discussion about stupid girls and politics.
After targeting vacuous female celebrities with her hit single Stupid Girls, she has now stirred a civil liberties debate in the US with her song, Dear Mr President.
The song - which will struggle to be released as a single in the US - has become an online cause celebre with hundreds of fans creating their own videos for its emotive lyrics.
"I've been crying my eyes out watching the videos on Youtube [online broadcaster] - that song has a life of its own now," Pink, 26, said yesterday. "The Civil Liberties Union has now got involved because a 10-year-old was banned from performing it at her elementary school."
In Australia to promote her new album, I'm Not Dead, she will perform her only concert on this tour at The Metro in Sydney tomorrow night.
