A POSTMAN was murdered and his burned body left in a paddock after a bondage session went too far, a jury heard yesterday.
David McDouall, 50, from Clayton in Victoria was found near a dirt track at Tarwin Lower, Gippsland, about three weeks after his death in June 2003.

He was wearing pantihose and briquettes were used to burn his body.

A Supreme Court jury heard Mr McDouall was a long-time customer of sex worker Catherine Doolan, who saw clients in the suburban home she shared with partner of 16 years Peter Godfrey Stein.

Mr Stein, 55, has pleaded not guilty to Mr McDouall's murder during an alleged bondage session on June 6.

"The rules of the session changed and took a deadly turn," prosecutor Sue Pullen told the jury in her opening address.

The court heard Mr McDouall's car was found 50m from the Queen St, Ormond, home of Ms Doolan and Mr Stein.

Mr Stein's blood was found inside the car and also in two syringes found near where Mr McDouall's body was dumped.

Ms Pullen told the jurors it was not a test of morals but a court of law and asked them to put aside any biases they may have about issues such as prostitution or drugs.

The trial before Justice Bernard Teague is continuing.
