he only ever wrestled for them and the wwe but he did nothing in the wwe so in my opinion he is only a wcw legend and not a wrestling legend

It's very hard to argue with a 173-0 start. He was undefeated for over a year. I'd have to say he is a legend for that. That was a crazy run. Yeh, he didn't do much in WWE, not much at all, but man 173-0...

DDP didn't do anything in the WWE either, has nothing to do with being a legend or no, depends on how you're being booked. However Goldberg I'd say was no legend.

yea you dont HAVE to be in the WWE to become a legend...who ever said that? Goldberg is definately a legend in my book, he has done quite a bit, very impressive

WWE dictates who is and who isn't a legend to the masses. Right now Goldberg is not a legend.

you do not have to be in the WWE to become a legend, dude. thats just ridiculous. Sting was never really in the WWE, so you're telling me he isnt a legend?

No i wouldnt consider Goldberg a legend. He was a fan favorite of coarse but his wrestling skills were average at best and he didnt do anything that great to be remembered especially as a legend.

Never said you had to be in WWE to be a legend but if WWE has anything to say about, and they do, Goldberg ain't no legend. That simple really.

He's more like a flash in the pan. A blink of a eye. So basically hell no. The guy chalked up a bunch of wins against a few vets and a bunch of Jobbers and they called it a streak. Then he was pretty much handed the WCW title on a silver platter by the higher ups then he left. Then he gets hired by the WWE and they truly tried to make him something he's not and thats a wrestler. He should never step foot in a ring ever again cause he's just plain crap.

I would say Goldberg is/was a tier two legend. On tier 1 you have Austin/Andre/Hogan/Flair/The Rock/Macho Man/Triple H/Piper, everyone knows them, everyone admires them. Tier two are guys like Mr. Perfect/Owen Hart/Randy Orton/Scott Hall/Kevin Nash who with no disrespect were very notable but didn't have that same caliber of guaranteed all time status as the very top tier.

Goldberg was just a guy that WCW, and later Vinny, decided to push to the moon regardless of what the fans wanted. The whole streak argument is over rated. Wrestling is fake, so who cares if a group of writers decide a guy will win 173 times? If Steph wanted, as head writer of the WWE, she could script Chris Masters to win 173 times in a row and they can pipe in cheers and make it sound like people were chanting his name too like they did with Goldberg, would that make him a legend too? Of course not.

Goldberg bitching about how he wasn't used the same in WWE as he was in WCW is so ludricous. The guy never appearing on WWE television again wouldn't break my heart.

Nope,a sub par wrestler that got a huge push. basicly he was in my mind a bum.A former atlanta falcon who did well in an Alanta based promotion. 'nuff said?

Goldberg will never be a legend. His undefeated streak was a joke and doesnt count for jack. Gillberg will be a legend before Goldberg.

To me, Goldberg was a legend.

He had an undefeated Streak, his Spear was great, and they pushed the move alot.

They guy had great power, and he also had alot of titles.

Goldberg is a household name, just like Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold. Goldberg was great then, he's great now, just because WWE doesnt think he's a legend doesnt mean sh*t. Who gives a crap who WWE thinks is a legend? A wrestler achieves legend status from the fans, and I dont care what any of you say, EVERYONE loved Goldberg, EVERYONE! Now for whatever reason ppl believe if you cant "really wrestle" then you dont belong in pro wrestling...thats just stupid. Goldberg is a definate legend, no doubt about it!

I used to like him as a kid growing up, with wrestling only reason why i liked him back then was, due to he was like a hero to me.

Now he's just boring had no real wrestling talent or any think, he was pushed by WCW and then WWE...

I always thought he was a waste of WCW's time and money. They could have used it on someone else that was worth it. Then when the WWE signed him I truly don't think they knew what they were getting.

Will

I don't really think he was a waste of money for WCW, simply because they were throwing so much cash away anyway that one more guy didn't matter in the grand scheme of things and he did draw fans, around the point where he fought Hogan in the Georgia dome. He just didn't have anything memorable about him that would excite anyone other than the casual fans/marks or any strengths that would allow him to be a franchise player.

he was the reason i watched WCW. IMO he is awesome and deserves the title of wrestling legend:)
