ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER ADDED TO UXW SEPT 29

SEPTEMBER 29, 2007
UXW PRESENTS
TO HELL AND BACK
The Central Florida Fairgrounds Pavilion
4603 W. Colonial Dr
Orlando, FL

Xtreme Havoc has come and gone and went down in the history books as one of the best wrestling shows people had ever seen. The reviews and comments we got were off the charts. the main event of Goldust vs Sabu astonished people as Goldust went hardcore. The christopher Street Connection brought a level of violence people didn't think was possible from the flamboyant duo. Snow obliterated Ray Beez to become the Florida champion. All of this was just a taste of what went down as we would need another release to go over everything that went down at Xtreme Havoc.

ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER RETURNS TO UXW!

By its violent nature, pro wrestling has attracted to its ranks some of the most vicious, sadistic, and toughest men in the world. However, of the dozens of bloodthirsty, psychotic personalities our sport has been home to, few can rival the shear violence, insanity and chaos created by the "Madman from the Sudan", Abdullah the Butcher. Abdullah has spent nearly 5 decades inside of the squared circle, bloodying and battering his opponents with a vengence like few others in the history of the business. Never mistaken as a scientific wrestler, Abdullah wrestled those many decades without ever changing his primitive, simplistic, barbaric style. But what he lacked in finesse and technical knowledge, he made up for in shear brutality. During his decades-long span of terror, Abdullah drew blood from nearly every opponent he faced...and influenced generations of wrestling brawlers to come.

His crimson-soaked feuds with the equally deranged (and hated) Shiek, Buddy Rogers, Bobo Brazil, Carlos Colon, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Terry & Dory Funk, Jack Brisco, Sting, Cactus Jack, and so many others created a well-deserved reputation of sadism for Abdullah. Fans, fame, championships, or even winning never meant much to "The Madman from the Sudan" during his career. However, being known as the craziest, most violent and unpredictable pro wrestler in the world did. He thrived on it, and it was the driving force in his career...

"The Butcher" influenced more than a few generations of wrestling "wildmen", through his never-ending bookings, and determination to put on a show -- despite utilizing a mere handful of unchanging holds -- and disregard for not only his opponent's, but his own safety. From the likes of Pampera Firpo and "Maniac" Mark Lewin to "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer, The Iron Shiek and Kamala to Cactus Jack and dozens of brawlers in between -- Abdullah's unpredictable, straight-forward, ultra-violent approach to the ring has been mirrored often over the years. However, it's safe to say that no one has ever made more from a Karate-thrust to the throat (his primary weapon, which was usually delivered dozens of times throughout one of his matches) than Abdullah. He also possessed a surprisingly quick and accurate dropkick -- a truly impressive move when delivered by as man his size. His pointed-toe boots were also a prime weapon, one that other "mad Arabs" would later adopt as their own.

Abdullah was often used as a hired "hitman", called in to destroy a particular territory's top babyface. However, he also feuded with many "bad guys" as well -- something that was somewhat rare for many years. His battles with the equally deranged Sheik were bloodbaths from bell to bell, and the bitter rivalry between the two madmen lasted for years. To Abdullah, blood was blood...and it all ran red. He moved constantly within the various territories of the NWA and AWA throughout the 60's, `70's, `80', and through the `90's. He was a prime star (and draw) for promoters in Japan, Puerto Rico, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, and his (unbeknownst by the fans) home country of Canada. Along with Andre the Giant, Bruiser Brody, and a few others, Abdullah was a true international wrestling superstar during a time when the sport was very regionalized. By positioning himself as the most insane, violent, and (most importantly) hated wrestler in promotions all across the globe, Abdullah influenced future wrestlers in countries literally all over the world -- something most wrestling legends cannot claim. Even more impressive is that he did so despite rarely, if ever, doing a "traditional" (ie: Abdullah speaks in English, Japanese, or Spanish) interview in the various countries he wrestled in. His consistent blood-letting, and many "handlers" (The Great Mephisto, Scandor Akbar, Cactus Jack, etc.) said everything Abdullah wanted to convey to the fans. Violence was his language, and it translated to any dialect...

JOEY MERCURY SIGNED FOR TO HELL AND BACK!
The infamous, paparazzi followed Joey Mercury has been signed for UXW's next event. You know him best as one of half of the former WWE tag team champions MNM with current ECW champion Johnny Nitro. He had memorable feuds with the likes of the Hardys, London and Kendrick and the team of Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. His feud with the Hardy's resulted in a broken nose and an even angrier, more vicious Mercury emerging.

He got his first taste of fame wrestling in OMEGA with his then partner and training friend, Christian York. They wrestled all over the US, making a name for themselves as the future of wrestling. Mercury (with York) saw action on the last ECW pay-per-view Guilty as Charged and had a short lived stint in WCW. York eventually retired from wrestling (and has just recently reemerged from that retirement) which led to Mercury going out on his own and being signed by the WWE.

Joey Mercury has promised to make a major impact in UXW. Who will he face? Does he have allies already? come see what this international superstar has to say and what his plans are on September 29th.

SABU VS TOO COLD SCORPIO
Too Cold Scorpio is best known for his run in ECW. He's a four time ECW World Television Champ, former ECW Tag Team Champ (with the Sandman). Some may remember him as the dancing Flash Funk in the WWF. He even has the Japan credentials to back him up as he won the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in Pro Wrestling NOAH with Vader and later with Doug Williams. He also found singles gold in Japan, winning the NOAH GHC Openweight Hardcore title against Muhammad Yone.

Most don't know what to make of Scorpio as they never know how to pin his style down. He can fly with cruiserweights half his size (the 450 splash, shooting star press and flying corkscrew leg drop are two of his signature manuevers). He can be a power wrestler and get you with a multitude of suplexes (the butterfly and german are two of his favorites). Or he can use his technical skills learned all around the world to take you down to the mat and just out wrestle you.

Too Cold Scorpio is a formidable opponent that is not to be underestimated. Make sure you come to UXW presents To Hell and Back to see if he can win UXW gold against Sabu for the UXW World Title.

NECW Returns with DOUBLE INTENSITY, Friday Night, July 20th in Quincy & Saturday Night, July 21st in Danvers!

New England Championship Wrestling returns to live action with huge back to back events called DOUBLE INTENSITY, Friday night, July 20th at the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA and the following night, Saturday, July 21 at the National Guard Armory in Danvers. Friday night's bell time is 8:00 PM. Saturday night event will start at 7:00 PM.

Next weekend, "The Real Deal" Brandon Locke, the new NECW Television Champion, gets a rare double opportunity to rise to the top of the heap in NECW with a pair of matches against NECW Triple Crown Champion, D.C. Dillinger. Locke already owns a non-title victory over Dillinger from June 3rd at the Hot Dog Safari. Combined with Locke's recent TV title victory over "The Exotic" Kristian Frost, this could be double trouble for the Triple Crown Champion. Locke's TV title is not on the line in either match, so "The Real Deal" has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Also Friday night in Quincy: Last month, World Women’s Wrestling Champion, Tanya Lee was defeated in a non-title match by Lexxus. These two will collide again at DOUBLE INTENSITY, this time with the gold on the line. Last month was the second time Lexxus has pinned Tanya Lee. The first time was last month in Danvers in a mixed tag team match. It appears that Lexxus has Tanya Lee’s number and the belt could change hands in Quincy .

For many months now, “The Golden Greek” Alex Arion has been embroiled in a feud with the faction known as DNA. Last month in Quincy the situation came to a head and a challenge was made. It will be a special gauntlet match where Alex Arion must face and defeat all three members of DNA (“The Talent” T.J. Richter, Max Bauer and “Sensational” Scott Reed) in succession. If Arion wins, his brother “Big Guns” Frankie Arion (who lost a retirement match to Richter in September) will be reinstated. If DNA win, “The Golden Greek” must retire. It’s an all-or-nothing battle with the career on one of NECW’s all time greats on the line.

Speaking of championships, NECW President, Sheldon Goldberg has informed D.C. Dillinger that according to NECW by laws, no wrestler is allowed to hold two championships at the same time. He has given Dillinger until July 20th to decided whether he will continue as Triple Crown Champion or be one half of the NECW Tag Team Champions with “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards. Goldberg has made it clear to Dillinger, that should he fail to make a decision on July 20th, he will make the decision for him.

Also in Quincy , former Triple Crown Champion, “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks collides with Big Rick Fuller in a continuation of the bitter feud between two former friends who are now bitter enemies. Batten down the hatches, as this will be another wild collision.

In other bouts, The Wild Boys take on the father and son duo of The Baker Boys. Plus "Straight Edge" Brian Fury in action and more.

The following night in Danvers, it will be another international TV taping for NECW TV.

In addition to Dillinger vs. Brandon Locke, tag team action is on the menu as the mysterious masked duo calling themselves The Forgotten make their NECW debut against former tag team champions, The Dogs Of War.

Also in tag team action, former NECW Tag Team Champions, PRIDE make their return to NECW action to face the masked tandem of Kreeper and Iraqnid.

In other bouts, the rookie sensation, Scott Osbourne battles "Big" Rick Fuller, "Straight Edge" Brian Fury takes on "Mr Undefeated" Matt Spectro and former tag champs, The Canadian Superstars collide with Triplelicious and Pat Masters.

All this, plus "The Human Nightmare" Evan Siks, "The Exotic" Kristian Frost, a World Women’s Wrestling feature match and more! You never know what will take place on a TV taping!

Tickets for both of these events are on sale at all FYE and Strawberries locations and online at www.NECWwrestling.com.

ACW News: 7/17 Results & 8/4 Information

On Tuesday July 17, 2007American Combat Wrestling returned to Bourbon Street Night Club 4331 US 19N in New Port Richey, FL. The evening was violent and hardcore with two Combat title tournament matches.

Speaking of the Combat tournament, the evening was opened by the former champion and current ACW Heavyweight champion “Rough House” Ralph Mosca. But before he could really express his thoughts, the New Movement hit the stage. David Mercury spoke for the group about his partners in crime having two matches tonight and how they would advance in the tournament. Mosca reminded them who their opponents in the tournament were, namely Sideshow, Dany Only and Ray Beez. Mosca dared Eddie Taurus to give Mercury his number one contenders spot. Taurus agreed and Mercury is now the number one contender. Mosca was so confident he would beat Mercury he is going to let him choose the stipulation.

(1) Nick “I’m Not Gay” Fame defeated Shayne Swift.

Despite working in tag matches in recent weeks, Swift took the fight to Fame and his left arm. Fame got a little upset and kicked Swift in the hamstring but Swift fired back with a series of kicks that sent Fame running to the floor. Swift followed with a plancha and brought Fame back in the ring where Fame fell to the mat with an injured knee. Referee Billy Dalton checked on Fame and when Swift thought it was over, Fame attacked from behind in true gold bricking fashion. Fame tossed Swift’s left shoulder into the middle turnbuckle and he continued the attack with a backbreaker on the arm. Fame did further damage when the duo fought on the floor and Swift’s arm met the bar. Swift fired back with a body block and Whisper in the Wind but Fame leveled him with a clothesline and a shoulderbreaker for two. Fame went for the submission with an overhand wristlock but Swift fought out, only to be punched right in the teeth. Swift countered out of a shoulderbreaker and back up into a DDT but couldn’t follow up. Swift got to his feet but it took three clotheslines to get Fame off his feet. He followed with a series of kicks to Fame’s head but Fame kicked out as he did after the Rocker Dropper. Swift went for another DDT but Fame held on and hit a Northern Lights Bomb and with his feet on the ropes.

(2) Moonshine McCoy defeated Michael Patrick.

The crowd kept calling Patrick an ape and wanted him to shave his back. McCoy tried to do that while raking his nails down Patrick’s back. Patrick bailed to the floor and demanded McCoy play by the rules. Patrick finally came back to the ring but his armbar was countered by McCoy and he backed to a corner for sanctuary. Patrick got a side headlock and punched McCoy; all that did was hurt his fist. But the choking on the ropes slowed McCoy down somewhat. Patrick kept the rulebreaking up with eye rakes and chokes. But when Patrick went up top McCoy fell into the ropes and it cause Patrick to lose his balance and McCoy press slammed him off. McCoy went on the attack but was slowed by a knee to the gut. However the end came for Patrick when McCoy countered a slam into a Slop Drop.

(3) Nooie Lee defeated Suicide.

Having faced each other in other Florida promotions, Lee knew his opponent and jumped Suicide. But it backfired as Suicide took over with a series of high flying moves. Lee put a stop to all that with a belly to back suplex for two. Lee hit a slam and a powerdrive elbow for two and laid in some kicks to Suicide’s prone body. Lee kept Suicide grounded with a neck vise submission but Suicide fought to his feet but got taken back down with an STO for two. Lee hit a leg lariat and took Suicide back to the mat with an abdominal stretch like hold. Suicide got to his feet again but Lee hit a modified Sky High Slam for two. Lee went for another submission with a leg lace but Suicide hit several forearms to get out of the hold but fell right back into a chinlock. Suicide got out of the hold with a jawbreaker but his top rope move was briefly cut off. Lee and Suicide fought on the top but it was Lee who fell back to the mat and Suicide hit a body block. Suicide got to his feet first and took over with a double knee jawbreaker. But it ended for him when he got too close to Lee who got the pin with a chain wrestling move.

(4) ACW Tag Team champions Delta Iota Kappa (“Candizzle Dream” Joshua Masters & Sedrick Strong w/Fetish) defeated ACW Cruiserweight champion Jaison Moore & the Flea From The Hind of a Dog.

The champs had no clue how to handle the Dog so they kept Moore in the ring. That didn’t really go great either as Moore came ready to walk out with double gold in his hands. The Dog tagged in and tried to bit Masters hand off. Obviously Masters didn’t like that so he kneed the Dog in the gut and the DIK attack went into full swing for several minutes. The Dog survived this attack and was finally able to tag Moore back in. But despite their best efforts, Moore and the Dog fell to DIK and a double team chokeslam.

(5) In an opening round ACW Combat championship tournament match, Eddie Taurus of the New Movement (w/George Martel) defeated Dany Only.

All Combat matches are HARDCORE and this was right up Only’s alley. Taurus decided to counter this with a power attack, shoving Only to the canvas. But this didn’t work out as Only got a series of quick two counts before Taurus bailed to the floor. Only followed and the fighting was on, in and out of the ring. Taurus went right back to the ring to equalize Only’s brawling with wrestling and some kicks to the middle of Only’s back. Only fought back with right hand punches to the jaw but Taurus hit a leg lariat for one. Martel decided to spice things up so he handed Taurus a trash can but it ended up on Only’s hands and over Taurus’ head. Only kicked the can and it sent Taurus falling to the mat. Taurus fought back with chest chops, forearms and a blatant choke. Only avoided a corner splash and hit Taurus with a Hot Shot followed by a leg drop for two. Only went to the ropes but Martel tripped him up and Only followed to the floor to choke out Martel. Taurus followed with a cooking sheet but missed Only who spewed green mist into Taurus’ eyes. Only tried to open up Taurus’ head with right hand punches above the eye. Taurus fought back with punches of his own but Only smashed his face on the ring apron. Only wedged the garbage can in the corner but his whip was countered into a powerslam. Taurus went up top but missed his double stomp and Only blocked the superkick, hitting a sideslam. But Martel got the referee’s attention and Only got his eyes raked. Taurus hit Only with a chair shot and used the chair’s bottom to choke out Only.

(6) In an opening round ACW Combat championship tournament match, Sideshow defeated Austin Amadeus of the New Movement (w/David Mercury.)

Sideshow went right on the attack with a series of kicks to Amadeus’ upper body which made him bail to the floor for advice from Mercury. But Sideshow was in such a fighting mood he followed them out to the floor and the chairs and punches began to fly. When the action came back to the ring it was Amadeus who was delivering the kicks. When Amadeus got tired, he simply tossed Sideshow out to Mercury for some punishment. Amadeus got the garbage can used in the previous match and set it up in a corner. But first he used some chain wrestling chokes on Sideshow and took the can to Sideshow’s body. But Amadeus got cocky and when he took his eyes off Sideshow, he got hit with a Backiotomy for two. Sideshow put the trash can on Amadeus’ upper body and hit it with a front kick. The action went to the floor where Sideshow used a fan’s crutch on Amadeus’ throat. Amadeus fought back and hit Sideshow with a backbreaker onto the ring apron for two. Amadeus hit Sideshow with kicks and forearms that sent him back to the floor where Mercury was waiting with open arms and closed fists. Amadeus drove Sideshow’s back into a wall but a miscommunication in the ring cost Amadeus the match as Sideshow hit the Double Penetration to advance. Mercury jumped Sideshow after the match but Ralph Mosca hit the ring and then Mercury with punches to the jaw before Mercury bailed to higher ground.
