Cleveland All Pro Wrestling ran their Night of Legends 14th anniversary show this afternoon at the Plain Dealer Pavilion, on the river in the flats, in front of 800-1000 people. It was a near 5 hour marathon that was well worth my $15.

*The "pre-show" featured a 20 person king of Cleveland royal rumble match won by Ironman. I said person because there was a small female named Angel Dust who was abused in this match

*Dave Crist and Neveah won a good mixed tag main show opener over Lexie Fyfe and Robbie Starr.

*Super Hentai retained CAPW Jr heavyweight title over Shark Boy and the Aftermath in a 7 minute match that could have been better if it were longer.

*Doink the Clown defeated Lord Zoltan in a pure comedy legends match.

*Johnny Gargano and Josh Prohibition cut a promo on Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. After awhile, The Machine Guns ran them off to further juice their match later.

*Conrad Kennedy III defeated Chris Cronus to retain CAPW TV belt.

*Mythical Six Man World champs JT Lightning and the Munchies, showing no jet lag from an overnight flight from China, retained in a hard fought battle over Carlton Maz and Virus and Unknown, collectively known as Q&A.

*Luna Vachon retained what was billed as the Women's Universal Hardcore championship over Jessica Havok. This was a wild match that saw them fight all over the pavilion...Havok was abused and took a few orders of nachos to the face during this brawl.

During intermission, we were entertained by a local band called the Hostile Amish...they might have been related to Roadkill?

*The second half opened with Nigel McGuinness defeating Matt Cross in a real good hard hitting 15 minute match.

*The match of the day was next as local prodigy Johnny Gargano and Josh Prohibition took on Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. The story behind the match was that the 19 year old Gargano has beaten Shelley in 2 out of their 3 matches in the last year. Shelley wanted another match for this show, but Gargano would only wrestle in a tag. After 15 minutes of great back and forth action the local guys came up with the big win over the guys from Detroit, who were definitely the faces here.

*Tommy Rich and Jimmy Snuka went to a 10 minute double countout.

*CAPW Tag champs Faith In Nothing, Christian Faith and Vincent Nothing defeated Confederate Currency of Tracy Smothers and Chris Hamrick. After the match, Smothers suckered the champs into a handshake while Hamrick and CK3 attacked from behind, taking out Faith's knee with a Confederate flag

*Rick Steiner defeated Buff Bagwell in another legends match. Bagwell had to cut a heel promo on Cleveland before the match, since he and Steiner posed for Polaroid pictures together during intermission.

*In what was originally scheduled to be a Cage match, Jason Bane defeated the Blue Meanie in an Anything Goes Cleveland Street Fight in about 7 minutes to win the CAPW Heavyweight title. Postmatch, former champ Raymond Rowe returned to attack Bane from behind with a release German suplex. He grabbed the mic and told Bane that he was what a champion looked like as the show ended.

The crowd was somewhat pissed about the lack of the cage match for the main event, but I think that they skipped it because the show was long already, and while it was well paced, there was a lot of stalling before and during a few matches and people were leaving during the later matches.. If they had set up a cage that would have killed the crowd...all told a fine, fun afternoon/early evening of wrestling in Cleveland.
