New public beta of the virtualization software for Macs is now available.

Virtualization company Parallels launched a new public beta of Parallels Desktop for Mac on Thursday. Among other features, Parallels public beta will support the iPhone in Windows XP and Vista while running on your Mac.

Parallels allows Mac users to run Windows XP or Vista on their Mac without requiring a reboot like Apple's built-in Boot Camp does.

According to the company, the public beta includes several new features that users can test including Coherence compatibility with Expose. Parallels will now allow you to "stack" Windows and Mac apps however you'd like.

The public beta also has an improved Explorer tool that works with suspended, as well as shutdown, virtual machines. A complete, snapshot-compatible Image Tool to convert, enlarge, convert or split/unsplit virtual drives is included as well.

The public beta is free for all Parallels Desktop 3.0 users that have a trial or permanent key. The software is available for download from the company's Web site.
