A lunch by the seaside at Malibu turned violent for Australian actor Naomi Watts, her partner Liev Schreiber and their newborn son when paparazzi surrounded, taunted and threatened them.
Schreiber shoved one male photographer, swore at others and chased two down a busy road.
"Are you out of your mind!" Watts, surrounded by about 40 paparazzi, said as she tried to leave Tony's Taverna, a popular Greek restaurant in Malibu, yesterday.
Watts and Schreiber have been hounded by the paparazzi since the actress gave birth to son Alexander Pete Schreiber last month, but the Hollywood couple exploded yesterday.
Footage of the incident was posted on celebrity website, TMZ.com.
One male paparazzo is heard threatening Schreiber.
"You better sit down before I knock your ass out," the paparazzo says.
Schreiber, who has a foot injury, looks like a lion trying to protect his cub from hungry jackals.
Watts, Schreiber and their son met Australian actress Rebecca Rigg at the restaurant.
As they left, paparazzi surrounded Watts' silver Audi station wagon.
Watts appeared distressed as they tried to put baby Alexander in the back seat of the car.
Last week, police were called to escort Watts and a female friend from a supermarket near her mansion in the LA suburb of Brentwood when paparazzi were stalking her.
Watts and US-born Schreiber met while shooting last year's drama, The Painted Veil, in China.
