The Irwin family is spending the first anniversary of Steve Irwin's death in a private location in the United States.
t was a year ago today that a stingray fatally speared its barb into the 44-year-old famous crocodile hunter's chest while he was making a documentary on Batt Reef near Port Douglas.

Terri and children Bindi and Robert are currently in the US, where nine-year-old Bindi Irwin recently launched her international modelling and fashion career in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, it's business as usual at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo in south-east Queensland.

The Irwins have nominated November 15 for the first annual Steve Irwin Day, when fans will be encouraged to wear Khaki, camp out in their backyards or visit the zoo for a number of special events.
