There was plenty of other excitement at the MTV awards when Tommy Lee was escorted out of the auditorium after getting into a fight with Kid Rock.
The scuffle occurred while Alicia Keys was performing on stage.
"There were no fists, they were just holding each other, grabbing each other," Tom Higginson, singer of the pop band Plain White Ts said.
"Security had to break them up."
Both men are former husbands of model Pamela Anderson.
