VERIZON Business has filled the vacant managing director slot for its Australia and New Zealand division with the appointment of Ron Gauci.
Mr Gauci replaces Trevor Duff who left five months ago to assume the role of chairman for Shindig, an online application development company.

The new local chief will officially take the reins on September 24, a company spokesperson said.

Mr Gauci has held senior management positions in the ICT industry for the past 20 years. Most recently, he was a partner at IBM Australia's global business services unit where he led the local consulting practice for Big Blue in the financial services sector. He joined IBM in June 2006.

He is also the chairman of the Australian Information Industry Association in Victoria and has worked at Microsoft, Siebel and Telstra.

Mr Gauci will report to Andrew Dobbins, Verizon Business Asia-Pacific vice president.
