Impact opens with a recap of last weeks events, highlighting Sting’s restraining
order on Karen Angle, the debut of Junior Fatu, and Judas Mesias choking out Sting
with a rope around his neck. Speaking of Mesias, he is backstage with James
Mitchell, who calls out Sting and says if he wants revenge he needs to meet them
outside of the Impact Zone.

The Impact intro hits and Mike Tenay wonders if Sting will extract any sort of
revenge on Judas Mesias. Also, scheduled for tonight is a five knockout preview for
Bound for Glory. Don West does some hype for Bound for Glory as we head right into
the first match.

Match 1: Team 3D vs. Sonjay Dutt & Shark Boy
Team 3D doesn’t take their opponents very seriously. Shark Boy bites Devon while
Ray laughs. Shark Boy then bites Ray and this causes Team 3D to argue a bit. Dutt
is tagged in and instead of going on the offensive on Brother Ray, decides to kiss
his hand. Brother Ray plays it up and goes to kiss his hand back as Devon becomes
livid on the outside. Ray kisses it and follows up with a hard clothesline. Dutt,
however, begins to fight his way back into the match and even takes out both Ray and
Devon in the ring. Dutt and Shark Boy then land the trademark Team 3D flying
headbutt on Ray and Dutt calls out for the tables, until Devon takes them both out
with a double clothesline. Team 3D then land the 3D on Shark Boy for the pin fall.

Winners of the Match: Team 3D by pin fall.

After the match, Team 3D sets up Shark Boy for the same fate that they delivered on
Scott Steiner with the chair over the throat, by Dutt pulls out his partner in time
and heads up the ramp before any damage is done.

Jeremy Borash is backstage plugging the TNA Mobile service with a poll about whether
or not there should be a rematch clause for the Sting/Angle match at Bound for
Glory. VKM come into the picture and say that they are sick and tired of taking a
backseat to everyone else in TNA. They also say they don’t need the fans and calls
them all marks who have no idea what goes on behind the curtain. Kip James tells
everyone its time to kiss their asses.

After a commercial break, Jeremy Borash is shown up in the rafters looking for Sting
but doesn’t have any luck finding him. On that note, it’s time to go to the second
match.

Match 2: Jimmy Rave & Lance Hoyt w/ Christie Hemme vs. Motorcity Machine Guns
The crowd is hot for the MMG’s at the start of the match. The team starts off
strong with some quick tandem offense against Jimmy Rave in which Sabin is able to
get a two count. Shelley was tagged back into the match and was nailed from behind
by Hoyt, which gave Rave an opening to take control of the match. Hoyt enters the
match and continues to work on Shelley. Hoyt & Rave try for some double team moves,
but Shelley gets out of it and ends up giving a DDT to Rave into Hoyt’s midsection.
Sabin is tagged in and he takes Rave down with a hard flying clothesline. Shelley
flies in with a frog splash and Sabin covers, but Hoyt is there to break it up. The
action breaks down with all four in the ring and Rave ends up putting a double STF
on both members of the MMG’s. Some miscommunication on Rave & Hoyt’s part opens up
a chance for the MMG’s to both nail Hoyt with ensuguris as Sabin makes the cover for
the victory.

Winners of the Match: Motorcity Machine Guns by pin fall.

After the match, Team 3D enter the ring during the MMG’s celebration and attack them
from behind. They cut to a commercial and when they return, Sabin is laying on a
table in the ring as Shark Boy comes out and tries to help the MMG’s, but gets laid
out for his troubles. Shelley is then powerbombed on top of Sabin through the
table. As for Shark Boy, Team 3D finally nails him with the chair shot to the
throat that they tried for earlier in the night.

Jeremy Borash is shown still on the lookout for Sting. He promises to get Tenay and
West word of his whereabouts when he finds out. At the announce table, Tenay and
West hype the start of TNA’s 2-hour broadcast next week and hype the Bound for Glory
pay-per-view.

Match 3: Ms. Brooks vs. Jackie Moore vs. Roxxi Laveaux vs. Christie Hemme vs. Gail Kim (5-Way Knockout Ladies Match)
The winner of this match will earn the final spot in the women’s gauntlet match at
Bound for Glory. Every woman is accompanied to the ring with a partner – Brooks is
with Robert Roode, Moore is with James Storm, Laveaux is with the VKM, Hemme is with
Hoyt & Rave and Kim is with Chris Harris. All of the partners are announced to be
participating in the Fight for the Right match at Bound for Glory.

Moore and Brooks team up against Kim at the start of the match, but Kim is able to
fight back and take them down, as well as all of the other competitors. The match
breaks down as all five are doing something and ends up being a tiered
powerbomb/suplex off of the top rope with Christie Hemme taking the brunt of the
fall. On the outside of the ring, Roode shoves Harris into Storm, who spills his
beer and attacks Harris. Hoyt & Rave get mixed up in the scuffle and they all fight
their way to the backstage area. Back in the ring, Gail Kim accidentally slaps Kip
James, who entered the ring. James backs Kim up into Laveaux, who lands voodoo slam
on Kim to win the match.

Winner of the Match: Roxie Laveaux by pin fall.

A video package highlighting the feud between Christian Cage and Samoa Joe airs.
Tenay reminds the fans that in that the two will meet at Bound for Glory with Matt
Morgan as the special enforcer.

A nicely produced video package featuring Judas Mesias is aired that states he is
death and hell follows near him. Borash is then standing next to said death, along
with his father, James Mitchell. They still have not heard from Sting, that is
until Sting attacks Mesias from behind. Sting tosses Mesias through some
strategically placed wooden doors and walls, until Mesias takes control of the fight by hitting him with a plastic chair. After a commercial break, Sting is back in control of the brawl as the two of them head into the Impact Zone. Sting sprays Mesias with a fire extinguisher until he heads into the ring where he locks on the Scorpion Death Lock. Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring and kicks Sting off of Mesias and the two of them start laying some boots in on Sting until Rhino comes in and makes the save. Angle, however, is able to keep Rhino from getting the upper
hand and Angle and Mesias begin beating both of their foes, that is until Abyss comes out to the ring. Abyss comes in and knocks both Angle and Mesias out to the floor.

The Impact recap video airs and it is announced that next week Team Pacman will be in action in the two hour episode of Impact as the show comes to a close.

Starman’s Thoughts
Hopefully tonight’s show is a sign of things to come with a two hour time slot.
Tonight’s show was not a star studded one, but it was a breath of fresh air. The
Motorcity Machine Guns were finally given a chance to shine with a victory against
the newcomers, Hoyt & Rave. Even the women’s match got me a little excited to see
who will come out on top to start out the women’s division, and I, for one, am
usually bored with women wrestling.

I was surprised not to see the likes of the Christian Coalition, Samoa Joe and very
little of the Angles. In my eyes, the show went on fine with out them, however, I’m
sure they will all get more than their fair share of time next week when the 2-hour
time slot begins. I just hope that they share that time with some of the undercard,
which seemed to me to be getting a little bit of footing and momentum heading into
the larger time slot.

However, I am not holding my breath on that one.

Don’t forget that next week Impact goes to a two hour time slot.
