Australian sexpot Sophie Monk is starring in a new spicy, bare-it-all ad campaign to persuade people to "kick their meat habit".

The campaign, which promotes vegetarianism, features a naked Monk lying on a bed of crimson chilli peppers and a tagline that reads: "Spice Up Your Life - Go Vegetarian!"

The campaign is organised by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), which has enlisted actors including Toni Collette and Joaquin Phoenix and musician Pink to its campaigns in the past.

Monk, 27, who gained fame as a member of the Australian girl band Bardot, said cutting meat out of her diet when she was a teenager had improved her quality of life.

Her fiance Benji Madden, a member of US punk band Good Charlotte, is also a dedicated vegetarian.

Monk said she was disturbed to learn of the pain suffered by animals raised for human consumption.

Her career has taken off since she moved to the US in 2005, with roles in box office hits Date Movie and the Adam Sandler comedy Click.
