HER naked ambition for fame beyond the pool has seen her fall out with her former swimming mates over unsubstantiated drugs claims, but Elka Graham's bid to muscle in on a new TV role has fallen flat.
After sexing up her image with an FMH shoot, styling up in sequins on Dancing With The Stars, Graham has tripped up in her grab for the mike as the host of Seven's new Gladiators show.
Spruikers for yet another public appearance by the one-time Olympian yesterday told Confidential Graham had auditioned for the TV series on the back of her dance floor turn for Channel 7.
But a network insider pulled the rug on her chances, stating she failed to impress during a screen test.
"She tried out as a presenter not a contestant but the producers don't think she's the right person, so it's a no-go at this stage," one source said.
