A man accused of stalking Hollywood star UMA THURMAN has told police he is in love with the actress.

Jack Jordan, originally from Massachusetts, pleaded not guilty to a string of charges - all relating to his obsession with the star - at Manhattan's Supreme Court on Friday (16Nov07).

The 35-year-old is accused of stalking Thurman and is also facing charges of harassment and felony coercion - which stems from an incident in which he allegedly told Thurman he would kill himself if he saw her with another man.

He could face up to four years in prison if convicted.

Jordan told police in a statement that he "connected" with Thurman while he watched one of her films, insisting that they are "meant to be together".

He was arrested last month (Oct07) outside Thurman's New York home after he started living in his parked car outside the property, according to New York Daily News.

A felony complaint also stated that Jordan once attempted to gain access to the Kill Bill star's trailer while she was filming in New York's Soho district in 2005.
Judge Lewis Bart Stone refused to lower Jordan's GBP50,000 bail limit and sent him back to jail where he has been held since he was first detained. He will appear in court again on 5 December (07).

Jordan's defence lawyer, George Vomvolakis, hit back at the decision insisting his client is being treated more harshly because Thurman is a big star.

He says, "If the complainant weren't Ms. Thurman, this would have been a misdemeanour stalking case.

"Mr. Jordan should not be prosecuted to a higher degree because the victim is a public figure."
