Lamour Holloway, a clerk in the Cook County public defender's office, was arrested after allegedly accepting a delivery of marijuana at work.
CHICAGO (CBS) ― An apparent personal delivery at work led to an arrest and a court date for a clerk at the Cook County public defender's office.
Lamour Holloway, 40, was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly accepted a large package of marijuana and then half an hour later put the package into a vehicle outside a government building in downtown Chicago, according to Andy Conklin, spokesperson for the Cook County state's attorney.
Conklin said a Chicago police officer posing as a UPS deliveryman dropped off the drugs, reports CBS station WBBM-TV.
Authorities said the Chicago Police Narcotics and Gang Investigation Section intercepted the package earlier Tuesday when a drug-sniffing dog gave a positive alert for marijuana. The package contained more than 38 pounds of marijuana valued at about $105,000.
Records show Holloway worked at the public defender's office since 1997.
The $34,000-a-year clerk was scheduled for a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.
