A US man spent part of Christmas Eve stuck upside down in the opening of his septic tank.
Robert Schoff, 77, of Des Moines, Iowa, overbalanced trying to clear a blockage, reports The Sun.
It was an hour before his wife Toni spotted his legs kicking in the air.
Mrs Schoff said: "I saw these kicking feet and ran outside, but I couldn't get him out."
After he was finally hauled out by two police officers, Mr Schoff said: "It was the worst Christmas Eve ever.
"I thought it was the end of my life. Thank God my wife saw me. I don't think I could have stood much more."
