Bill Gates speaks at CES
People will start to move away from their keyboards and use "more natural interfaces" to access data, according to Bill Gates.The co-founder of Microsoft was speaking at the opening of the CES show in Las Vegas.
Mr Gates said: "The first digital decade has been a great success.
"This is just the beginning. There is nothing holding us back from going much faster and further in the second digital decade."
Mr Gates said that people would start to move away from their computers to "natural user interfaces", such as touch screens and gesture controls.This could lead to video screens appear in desks, tables or walls in the future.
"You will take getting your data for granted," he said. "No longer will users have to bridge between devices and remember what is where."
He said that the new digital decade would be increasingly "user-centric".
He added that people would operate in increasingly realistic three-dimensional worlds to help them carry out much of their daily lives.
It was Mr Gates' last speech to CES before stepping down as Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft in July.
