XWA PRESS RELEASE

HOW YOU CAN SAVE THE DOME

It has been announced that Tuesday January 22 2008 will be D-Day for The Morecambe Dome.

The future of XWA's home venue and Morecambe's main live entertainment hall will be decided at a Lancaster City Council meeting on that date, which is also ironically XWA owner Greg Lambert's birthday.

An article in Morecambe's newspaper The Visitor dated January 16 (see www.thevisitor. co.uk/more- top-news/ Is-The-Dome- doomed.3674832. jp) outlines the latest position, and the four options the City Council cabinet will have to decide between.

In a nutshell, these options are:

OPTION 1) Close The Dome from April 1 2008 as a cost-cutting measure. This would mean XWA Goldrush on Saturday February 2 2008 would be the LAST EVER wrestling show at The Dome. We would then attempt to find an alternative venue for our other scheduled Dome dates for 2008.

OPTION 2) Close The Dome from April 1 2009. This would mean XWA will run all 2008 events as scheduled at The Dome, but from April 1 2009 onwards XWA shows would have to transfer to a different venue.

OPTION 3) The council will keep The Dome open for at least the next four years, until an expected redevelopment of Morecambe's central promenade area by award-winning designers Urban Splash.

OPTION 4) Find a private operator to run The Dome for at least the next four years until Urban Splash's redevelopment affects the venue. It is extremely unlikely councillors will choose this option.

We at the XWA want Lancaster City Council to CHOOSE OPTION 3.

We realise The Dome is probably going to be demolished eventually as part of Urban Splash's exciting regeneration plans for Morecambe seafront. But we love the venue passionately - we think it's the best for British wrestling in the UK - and we want it to stay open for as long as possible.

Many other people in Morecambe, including Lancaster City Council's regeneration partners Urban Splash, think it would be a catastrophic decision for the Council to close The Dome until a suitable replacement venue is up and running. That replacement venue, the considerably larger-capacity Winter Gardens Theatre across the road from The Dome, is not expected to open for at least four or five years. We agree with Urban Splash. Closing The Dome would be a PR disaster for Morecambe and would be perceived by locals and visitors alike as a step back for the town, when in reality the town's future is looking healthier than ever.

Like many other live entertainments promoters - local, national and international - who use The Dome for their events, the XWA would love to be able to transfer its events from The Dome to The Winter Gardens without a break. But if The Dome closes either this year or next, the XWA and many other high quality events will be lost to Morecambe town centre at this crucial time in the town's regeneration.

Last year The Dome was in the national media after hosting concerts by top British bands Arctic Monkeys and Reverend and the Makers. On January 30 2008 it will host another major group, The Kooks. No other Morecambe venue can cater for such big-name gigs that bring such high-profile and feel good factor to the town. So we say The Dome must stay open!

Morecambe needs to keep moving forward and not take a step back, and the XWA is exactly the same. The XWA has tremendous momentum at the present time and we want this to continue. So we plea to councillors - don't close our main venue!

The Dome has been a fantastic venue for professional wrestling since the 80s. Back in the 90s we remember sitting at ringside as fans to watch Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Fit Finlay, William Regal and many more, and as promoters we have had some unbelievable nights there since our first show on April 21 2003. The Dome has hosted some of the biggest names in international wrestling during the FWA/XWA era and some of the most memorable matches seen on UK shores during that time, matches like:

Doug Williams v Juventud Guerrera, Chris Hamrick v Zebra Kid - 21/4/03

Doug Williams v Christopher Daniels, Jody Fleisch v Jack Xavier - 2/8/03

D-Lo Brown v Jonny Storm, Sonjay Dutt v James Tighe, Doug Williams v Five Star Flash, Aviv Maayan v Alex Shane - 8/4/04

James Tighe v Jonny Storm (Loser Leaves FWA) - 29/5/04

Doug Williams v Joe Legend - 4/9/04

Alex Shane v Raven - 26/3/05

Naomichi Marufuji and Minoru Suzuki v Doug Williams and Scorpio, Alex Shane v Stevie Knight, Stixx and Stone v Hampton Court - 18/6/05

Team FWA beats Team All-Star for the Inter-Federation Cup - 13/5/06

Robbie Brookside v Jonny Storm v Hade Vansen - 15/7/06

Jonny Storm v Robbie Brookside - 7/4/07

El Ligero v Ross Jordan, Jonny Storm v Johnny Phere - 24/11/07

Fans and wrestlers alike say the atmosphere inside The Morecambe Dome on wrestling night is something that no other UK venue can match. So it would be an enormously bitter pill to swallow for The Dome to close on April 1 - just days before our scheduled fifth anniversary show, War On The Shore.

We need to do everything possible to stop this from happening. So you are an XWA fan local to the Morecambe and Lancaster area, and you agree with us that The Dome should stay open, then we encourage you to contact your local councillor prior to January 22 and make your feelings known.

We would also like you to join the on-line wrestling fans' petition to Save The Morecambe Dome, opened by long-time FWA and XWA fan John 'Cheetah UK' Searle, which you can access at http://groups. myspace.com/ morecambedome and leave your comments of support and memories of The Dome.

Hopefully by doing this, you can help save British wrestling's best venue and send a message loudly and clearly to Lancaster City Council, which is.

"KEEP THE DOME OPEN - CHOOSE OPTION 3!"

New England Championship Wrestling debuted this past Saturday night at the National Guard Armory in Dorchester, MA for WINTER WONDERSLAM.

In the opening contest, the returning “Sweet” Scott Ashworth pinned Scott Osbourne.

In the debut of Pat’s Pit hosted by Pat “The Brat” Piper, Piper’s guest was former NECW Triple Crown Champion “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks. Piper asked Siks about his upcoming title shot with current champion “Big” Rick Fuller and how he could stay focused with Michael Sain constantly interfering in his matches. Evan replied that he was having trouble keeping focused and that Sain was had gotten in his head. Sain charged from the back and laid waste to Siks, until “Nightmare” Nick Steel ran out to square off with Sain. Sain felt it better to leave the ring and slowly return to the back. Siks was assisted to the locker rooms by both Piper and Steel and then transported to a local medical facility for observation.

In the final quarterfinal match in the NECW Tag Team Tournament, The Weapons of Masked Destruction (Kreeper and Iraqnid) defeated Bryce Andrews and Vain Valentino (subbing for BK Jordan). Andrews was very visibly unhappy with much of his substitute partner’s efforts and turned on him, leaving him to be pinned by Kreeper.

In a special tag team grudge match, Sabotage (“Die Hard” Eddie Edwards and DC Dillinger) with Sean Gorman faced “The Golden Greek” Alex Arion and “The Infamous” Bobby Fish. Sabotage attacked Arion with a chair before the match and Fish ran to his rescue. “The Golden Greek” recovered enough to participate in the match, but was left weakened by the attack and was eventually pinned by DC Dillinger, while Fish and Edwards brawled all the way back to the dressing room.

The next match was a special World Women’s Wrestling championship match. WWW Champion Lexxus defeated The Portuguese Princess Ariel when she reversed an electric chair drop into a victory roll to retain the coveted red and gold belt. One Ariel fan was so upset at this result that he literally stormed from the armory slamming the door on his way out, showing the loyalty of the fans of the popular “Portuguese Princess”.

It was announced that due to the injury of Evan Siks, a fan in attendance would pick the opponent of “Big” Rick Fuller from a lot containing the names of all the competitors present at that night’s event. A young boy picked the name of Jason Blade from those in the blind draw.

Antonio “The Promise” Thomas came to the ring for his match with “Wild Boy” Billy King. Before the match Thomas told the fans and King that he was so focused on “Straight Edge” Brian Fury that tonight, despite King being a very talented former NECW Tag Team Champion, his name would be Brian Fury. King did a great job trying to keep up with “The Promise”, but the veteran appeared to have the upper hand. Thomas seemed to have the match won with his rolling reverse neck breaker, but when he opted to attempt a second, Brian Fury’s music played. Thomas dropped King and watched the entranceway calling for Fury. King recovered slowly and stunned “The Promise” and the fans by rolling up Thomas and securing a huge upset singles victory.

In the main event, “Big” Rick Fuller overcame the determination and talent of Jason Blade to retain the NECW Triple Crown following his reverse back breaker choke slam.

NECW returns to live action this coming Saturday night for SNOWBRAWL at the National Guard Armory in Quincy, MA. Tickets are on sale now at all FYE locations, K.C.'s Sports Cards in Quincy Center and online at www.NECWwrestling.com.

For more information on PWO TV's availability, visit www.pwowrestling.com or www.myspace.com/prowrestlingohio.

Upcoming airtimes for new episode of PWO TV:

Saturday night, January 26: 2:30 am
Sunday night, January 27: 10:00 pm; 4:00 am
Tuesday night, January 29: 4:00 am

Currently scheduled for the broadcast:

Josh Prohibition & Johnny Gargano vs. Marion Fontaine & Josh Abercrombie
Recently, “Mega Star” Marion Fontaine became the victim of the numbers game when outside involvement from Johnny Gargano and Lexi Lane cost Fontaine his match with Josh Prohibition. Fontaine knew he had to enlist some help, and after consulting his very bizarre and charismatic advisor “Macho Grosh”, Fontaine emerged with an old friend, and someone he can certainly relate to: Former MTV star and competitor known all across the United States, Josh Abercrombie. Abercrombie and Fontaine were last seen charging to the ring, looking for a fight when our last broadcast went off the air, and now they’ll finally get what they want. The numbers will be even as the most unstoppable duo in PWO today Josh Prohibition & Johnny Gargano, with Lexi Lane watching their back, do battle with Marion Fontaine & Josh Abercrombie, with Macho Grosh watching their back. Will the mustached megastars be able to avenge Fontaine’s prior singles loss or will the Prohibiton/Gargano alliance find another way to escape on top?

Vincent Nothing Makes His PWO In-Ring Debut
Recently, Vincent Nothing made a huge mark on PWO and made a major statement at the expense of one of it’s biggest stars. Nothing, who was not under contract to Pro Wrestling Ohio, appeared out of the crowd, brutally assaulting the giant Jason Bane in the middle of Bane’s match with “Amazing” N8 Mattson. Nothing made it very clear that he was not about to be overlooked and was none to pleased that the phone call from PWO to offer him a spot on the roster never came. Nothing intends to prove he is more than just a tag team wrestler, that he can dominate the Ohio wrestling scene once again, just like he dominated Cleveland’s tag ranks for over one year. Nothing makes his PWO debut against Michael “The Bomber” Façade, a graffiti enthusiast and self-described “Suburban Terrorist”. How will Nothing fare in his first outing against the tough competition of PWO? And how will Jason Bane react when he’s in the same building as the man who assaulted him for the very first time?

Gregory Iron vs. Virus Grande
Gregory Iron scored the biggest win of his career in his first match back from a life-threatening concussion, cleanly pinning the man many call the future of pro wrestling in Ohio, Johnny Gargano. Since that time, we’ve learned of Greg’s difficult upbringing. From coping with cerebral palsy, to dealing with abuse and drug use in the home, rather than destroy him, Iron has used adversity to make himself stronger. Through it all, wrestling has always been Iron’s driving force, and it seems now his career has finally turned a corner. However, one man who intends to stop Iron’s recent swing of momentum is Virus Grande. He and partner Virus have spent the past several weeks tormenting “Bloody” Morty Rackem, severely injuring Rackem’s tag partner, and also stealing his priceless heirloom swords. Will Virus Grande be able to steal a victory over Gregory Iron? Or will PWO’s most inspirational star go when step further to seeing his dreams come true?

Cronus in Action
He has been, quite simply, indestructible since his PWO debut. The near limitless brawn and power of the monstrous Cronus, mixed with the diabolical greedy mind of Agent Aaron Maguire has led to one of the most dangerous combinations in recent times. Maguire has stated Cronus is so dangerous, he’s had difficulty finding opponents willing to sign their name on the dotted line to face his charge. Well, this week, Cronus will be matched up against two. Young competitors Benjamin Boone & Bobby Beverly have signed on to the task, but have they signed their death certificates in the process? Agent Aaron Maguire unleashes Cronus wants again, and when Cronus gets competition, Maguire gets cash.

M-Dogg 20 Will Be In Attendance
“The Innovator of Aerial Insanity” M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross has been battling a very serious leg and groin injury in recent weeks, but has informed PWO officials that although he is not yet cleared to compete, he’s going to make an appearance at our next television broadcast. Rumors circulate he may be there to support Gregory Iron, whom M-Dogg has aided in the past when it came to Iron’s troubles with mutual rivals Josh Prohibition & Johnny Gargano. What does M-Dogg have planned this week? And how will the rest of the PWO locker room react?

Morty Rackem in Attendance
“Bloody” Morty Rackem will join us with comments pertaining to his recent troubles with Virus & Virus Grande, the status of his tag team partner, and what the future may hold. What message will the bloodthirsty pirate give to the men who stole his most prized possessions?

Tune in the weekend of January 26th for all that and more! Remember, Pro Wrestling Ohio is only available on Sports Time Ohio! If Sports Time Ohio is NOT part of your DirecTV or Dish Network package, no matter where in the U.S. you are, call your satellite provider today and demand STO! Indy Wrestle Line 1/20 Independent Report
317-592-9401 option 2
http://www.themidwestinsider.com
http://theweekendwarrior.tk

Hello everyone and welcome to your Indy Wrestle Line Independent report.. I am the Weekend Warrior Randy Klemme.
---------------------------------
Recently I had a question sent by e-mail from Eddie Runyon wanting to know if CoCo Warrior was still wrestling in eastern Kentucky. I have received a note from Eddie Turner who says Coco is now going by the name of Underminer and is still wrestling in Kentucky.

Jim in Western Maryland called and wanted to know who the Blackhearts were in the UWF shows on ESPN Classic right now. The Blackhearts, were David Heath, who eventually became Gangrel and Tom Nash. The two were Apocalypz and Destruction as the Blackhearts managed by Luna Vachon. The UWF ceased operation in 1996 with the death of Herb Abrams. You can catch an hour of UWF action Monday through Friday at 1am on ESPN Classic.

Hopefully everyone had a chance to catch the debut of NWA Showcase on Colours TV earlier this week. The show was a little rough, but for the first show it was ok. The announcing was not the greatest, BUT the wrestling was ok. I am just surprised for being the debut show they didn't come out of the gate with a match involving the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pierce, but instead chose two newer wrestlers. I am sure the NWA will continue to work on the TV program to make it better in the coming weeks.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Indiana Indy referee David Lee celebrating today on this Sunday....Mexican wrestler Super Porky celebrates on Monday and a special happy birthday to someone that helps me here with results on the reports, Big Lee Richardson celebrates on Wednesday this week....

Plan to check out option 3 real soon on the Indy Wrestle Line as Rodney Rush has Kenny "The Star Maker" Bolin from Ohio Valley Wrestling on the HotSeat in another good interview...

VPW Winter Chill 1/19/08 Official Results & Notes

To start off the new year, VPW had its highest attendance to date with about 350 fans packing in the Centereach VFW Hall. VPW would like to thank everyone who attended.

The show opened with a bang as Eclipse and the Suburban SWAT Team began fighting in the backstage area. Their fight quickly spilled out to ringside just as the ring announcer was welcoming everyone. Once the fight ended up in the ring, the Suburban SWAT Team invited Eclipse back in to finish what they started. Instead, Eclipse told their rivals that they’d wait until later to do it on their terms.

“The Miracle” Javi-Air d. Deranged

Once things got back under control, it was time for the first match of the evening. Deranged ended being Javi-Air’s mystery opponent, sent by Azrieal. Deranged hadn’t been seen in VPW or the Northeast in quite some time. This high-flying match had VPW fans thrilled, but sadly Deranged was seriously injured in the match, allowing Javi-Air to defeat his opponent. Shortly after the match, Deranged was rushed to a nearby hospital. The doctor on hand believed that Deranged suffered a stinger.

Nick Noshus d. Major Intencity

The undefeated streak of Nick Noshus continued as he defeated Major Intencity. The crowd was solidly behind Major Intencity, but even the fan’s support wasn’t enough to overcome Nick Noshus.

Livewired d. E.J. Risk & Justin Toxic

Livewired’s hot streak continued as they beat the debuting E.J. Risk & Justin Toxic in a hard-fought tag team match.

4 Corner Elimination

“Firebird” Jorge Santi d. Scotty Rio w/ Vinny the Guido, Nightmare and DC Diamond

Santi’s losing streak ended in a big way as he survived a match with three hard-hitting opponents. Scotty Rio was also very impressive in this showing by eliminating both the returning DC Diamond and Nightmare. Once it came down to just Rio and Santi, the action really kicked up. After the match, Scotty Rio was visibly angry at Vinny, blaming him for the loss, but the two patched things up since money talks.

Sabotage w/ Tony Lo d. Jay Lover w/ Don Tony

The ongoing war between Best Bodies, Inc. and the OZHB raged on in a match that was based on Sabotage’s actions back in December when he kidnapped Carmine the dog. This was also the first appearance of Best Bodies, Inc.’s new corner man, Tony Lo. Lo made an immediate impact and was certainly a big factor in Sabotage’s victory. Immediately following the match, Joe So Delicious hit the ring and joined Sabotage and Tony Lo in mauling Jay Lover and Don Tony. Tony Lo took out handcuffs for both Jay Lover and Don Tony, chaining them to the ring while the beating continued. Sabotage and Joe Delicious then formally introduced Tony Lo to the VPW fans. Having seen enough, Mack Daddy Flexx ran down with a steel chair, chasing Lo, Delicious and Sabotage to the back.

With Don Tony and Jay Lover still handcuffed to the ropes, VPW Champion Jason Static made his way down to the ring. Static continued where his buddies left off and further beat Don Tony and Jay Lover. Static then chose a lady from the audience to receive a kiss and a rose from him. A young lady was brought in the ring and just as she was about to receive her gifts, Static told her that she wasn’t worthy of him. Static then said that if Grim Reefer wanted a title shot so bad, he could have one if he came down to the ring immediately. Of course Reefer didn’t accept this offer because he wasn’t in the building. Grim Reefer got to the VFW Hall early before the show, but was mauled by Sabotage upon exiting the restrooms. Static then called out his opponent for later in the night, Zombie, but Zombie was also nowhere to be found. Calling both Reefer and Zombie cowards, Static left the ring.

Three-Way Dance

“Smooth Operator” Mike Gallagher d. Minyon and The Voice

In a match featuring three VPW debuts, Mike Gallagher survived. The Voice was pinned by Minyon, only for Minyon to be pinned by Mike Gallagher shortly after.

The Jerry Fitzwater Show

Jerry Fitzwater came out singing down to the ring and stopped to speak to several fans along the way. Fitzwater then called out his guest Vinny the Guido, head of VTG Enterprises. Vinny began to introduce his new bodyguard, John “Muscles” Marinara, but the Fitzwater show was literally crashed by Eric Nyenhuis. Nyenhuis hopped over the rails and stormed the ring, going right after Vinny. It took VPW security and several wrestlers to break the fight up and throw Nyenhuis out of the building. For several weeks, Nyenhuis and Vinny have been calling each other out in a battle of online warfare. Unfortunately, their private problems disrupted the event.

“Ultra Sexy” Joe So Delicious w/ Tony Lo d. Mack Daddy Flexx

In another chapter in the longstanding rivalry between Mack Daddy Flexx and Joe Delicious, Delicious was finally able to pin his rival in the middle of the ring. Of course, Delicious had Tony Lo and some sort of foreign object helping him out. This one is not over.

Suburban SWAT Team w/ Mikey Old School d. Eclipse

Picking up right where the night began, the former Crew exploded in the ring. Where Jack O’Hearts was once the glue holding these four together, that glue is no longer in place. The Suburban SWAT Team was victorious, but immediately after the match, Eclipse got a few more shots in. Making his VPW debut was Mikey Old School, who helped his men to a huge win.

VPW Championship

“Best Body in the Business….So the Ladies Say” Jason Static w/ Tony Lo d. The Zombie

In 2007, The Zombie stalked Static everywhere he went. Now with the VPW Championship on the line, these two went at it once more. At one point, there was confusion and it looked like Zombie was the new champion, but after checking with VPW Officials, Ref John Q, restarted the match. It turned out that both men’s shoulders were down in a questionable pinfall. With the match restarted, Static was able to lock in The Long Kiss Goodnight and retain his title. Static had lots of help from all members of Best Bodies, Inc.

VPW will return to Centereach for the big 2 Year Anniversary Show on Saturday Night, March 8, 2008. Plenty of backstage interviews were filmed for the eventual DVD release of Winter Chill.

[MAIN EVENT! BWO SOUTHERN STATE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE!]

"Dirty" Don Montoya (Champion)
versus
"Modern Day Enforcer" Eric Cooper (Challenger)

- Don Montoya shocked the fans in attendance when he was able to defeat Hightstown's own Eric Cooper and capture the BWO Southern State Heavyweight Championship in controversial fashion. The championship committee immediately decided that a rematch needed to be signed as soon as possible! Southern State officials are going to be making it very clear that they do not want any interference in this match as they feel Cooper deserves a fair shot at the title that could of very well have been his! Montoya is slowly becoming the most hated man in BWO Southern State, and he is looking to keep his title at all costs. Will Cooper finally grab that elusive Heavyweight title? Or will Montoya sneak his way out of Hightstown still the champion?

[BWO SOUTHERN STATE PHOENIX CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE!]

"Canadian Shooter" Tommy Forcer w/ JADEN (Champion)
versus
Draven Blaze

- These two ended the match that many are calling the match of the night in which Force was able to walk out as the first ever Southern State Phoenix Champion. These two will square off once again with Force's title on the line. This one promises to be explosive as Blaze is looking to walk out with some gold. JADEN has promised that Force will once again make Blaze submit and leave Hightstown with the championship still around his waist.

[RETURN MATCH! NO COUNT-OUTS!]

Steve "The Jerk" Off w/ The Off Army
versus
"Lone Wolf" Evan Myers

- These two also met at Gold Rush, and Steve off was on the verge of being defeated when his personal security pulled him out and Evan was awarded victory via count-out. Evan Myers told officials he wants to get his hands on Steve Off and they obliged. Steve Off will not be able to get himself counted out as there are no count-outs in this match! There must be a winner this time as Steve Off and Evan Myers, many who say these two are the future will collide, and there _will_ be a winner!

[GRUDGE MATCH!]

"Latin Terror" Anhell Gonzalez
versus
"Puerto Rican Prodigy" Chrono Chris

- At Gold Rush, Chrono Chris was victorious in his match, when he was then attacked by Anhell Gonzalez and Don Montoya just to be made an example of. Chrono came out later in the evening to chase them off of Cooper. Chrono demanded he got a piece of either Anhell or Montoya. However, Chrono may have bitten off more then he can chew as Anhell has accepted the challenge. The "Latin Terror" wants to show why he is the dominant force in Southern State, and the young fiesty Chrono wants to prove himself. This one may steal the show!

[SPECIAL CHALLENGE BOUNTY HUNTER MATCH!]

Rockin' Rebel
versus
Vinny The Fixxer w/ Sensational One (S-1)

- Back at Gold Rush, S-1 and Rebel had a match in which Rebel was victorious. S-1 swears Rebel cheated, and is paying Vinny The Fixxer a hefty amount of cash to take out Rebel. S-1 will be in the corner of Vinny as he continues his quest to take out The Rockin' Rebel. Will Rebel bring back-up? Will S-1 finally get his wish and get to "pimp slap" Rebel? Or will the wild card in Vinny The Fixxer take Rebel out once and for all?

[SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH!]

"Sugarfoot" Alex Payne
versus
Problem Child

- These two youngsters will both be making their BWO Southern State debuts at St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Alex Payne is a graduate of the Ring Of Honor Wrestling Academy and has been making his name not only in ROH, but everywhere he wrestles. Problem Child has been setting DTW in South New Jersey on fire. This one promises to be a quick paced match with these two new comers both trying to get their first win!

ALSO ON THIS NIGHT...

* "Dangerous" Danny Danger's open challenge series will continue! Last time he was able to hold off two people! Who is going to step up to the plate this time?
