Valve, PC developer Turtle Rock and newcomer Certain Affinity (who were responsible for the Halo 2 Blastacular map pack) interesting new zombie shooter Left 4 Dead has recently been shown off in the US Official Xbox Magazine.
According to OXM the console version still has a way to go before it matches the state of the PC build, as only that version was playable because the 360 edition is "too overbalanced" at current.
The Xbox 360 version is set to feature four-player co-op and eight-player, four-on-four Versus matches via Xbox Live or System Link. But as for a splitscreen mode, Valve's Doug Lombardi says, "that's the most relevant question that we can't answer for you today."
Unfortunately for PS3 owners, it looks like the multiplayer shooter's sticking to Microsoft platforms for the time being. "The PC and 360 versions of Left 4 Dead will ship simultaneously, but there will be no PS3 edition," says OXM (that's the US one).
