The center is a joint initiative with TietoEnator
A new collaborative effort between Microsoft and European digital business consultancy TietoEnator aims to increase service delivery speed. The Service Design Center is set up to enable business customers to achieve a new level of service creation by improving the processes of building and delivering new solutions.
Microsoft and TietoEnator not only promise to enhance the standard of user experience, but also to cut costs while boosting the engagement and efficiency of multi-channel services. According to the Redmond company the new Service Design Center will operate in Amsterdam, Helsinki, Munich, Oslo, Stockholm and Moscow.

"The creation of the Service Design Center is a milestone in the alliance between TietoEnator and Microsoft, and demonstrates the strong commitment to helping enterprise organizations deploy and utilize the latest Microsoft technologies to drive productivity and agility in their operations. TietoEnator's strong industry expertise and Microsoft technology competencies have come together in the Service Design Center to help bring innovative technology solutions to enterprise organizations more quickly," revealed Peter Boit, vice president of Enterprise Partners at Microsoft.

At the heart of the new Service Design Center are Microsoft's Information Worker solutions. With such products as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft unified communications, the Redmond company and TietoEnator's joint initiative will help enhance productivity and the speed of service delivery while ensuring consumer privacy and intimacy. Essentially the Design Center will permit building digital business solutions and services tailored to Internet and mobile environments.

"The way new digital business concepts are designed is changing fundamentally. Instead of running a 3- to 24-month IT-planning cycle, most industries must be able to release new services every month, or sometimes every week. Technology development is no longer driving change; the fundamental change in consumer behavior is. TietoEnator is strong in information-intensive sectors such as telecoms, banking, utilities and healthcare. In combining TietoEnator's and Microsoft's expertise, we will speed up the development of new, innovative service concepts for our enterprise customers," added Pekka Viljakainen, executive vice president, TietoEnator.
