RIC FLAIR DISCUSSED ON HOWARD STERN TODAY, SPORTSWRITER SAYS FLAIR SHOULD HAVE GONE OUT A WINNER, FUNNY CENA MERCHANDISE AND MORE
The Charlotte Observer's Langston Wertz Jr. wrote the following in his latest sports column: "In real life, great sports stories don't always end the way you hope. In the movies, Davidson would've hit the last shot against Kansas. But in pro wrestling, where things are predetermined, Charlotte's Ric Flair -- the greatest wrestler who will ever live -- should've ended his career with a win."
Jeff Sheridan sent word that Howard Stern played audio from Ric Flair receiving the key to the city in Columbia, SC last week and basically said getting the key didn't mean anything, wondering why Flair was so emotional. From reading the recap Jeff forwarded, I got the impression Stern didn't realize Flair was in the last week of his career and preparing to finish up.
The Flair commemorative T-shirt WWE is selling is currently the best selling item on their WWEShop.com website.
Floyd Mayweather's Wrestlemania appearance was mentioned in the latest edition of Sports Illustrated.
Former ECW World champ Sabu and Bill Alfonso will be doing an autograph signing this Saturday 4/6 at the Wrestling Universe store in Whitestone, Queens. For more information, call Jac Sabboth at (718) 746-0010. The store will be hosting signings with Dawn Marie and Tammy Sytch in April and May as well.
WWE has released John Cena "Chain Gang" sneakers for children...seriously.
