Good idea to have this thread in the middle of WWE's "Spring Cleaning." I can assume there are lots of releases to come.

I'm a little suprised by Balls Mahoney being released, but not so much by the other 2... I am sure this will be the first of many, yet again...

World Wrestling Entertainment issued the following statement today:

WWE has come to terms on the release of developmental talent and former Spirit Squad member Mike Mondo. We wish Mike all the best in his future endeavors.

Mondo, real name Michael Brendli, had been working in WWE developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling as the masked Mighty Mikey.

Brendli was arrested on DUI charges in Tampa on 6/1. At the time of his arrest, Brendli was listed as having a blood alcohol level of 0.094. A second test listed him with a level of 0.091. Under Florida law, "DUI is one offense, proved by impairment of normal faculties or unlawful blood alcohol or breath alcohol level of 0.08 or above."

Brendli's arrest was the third case of DUI charges being brought against WWE-contracted performer in the Tampa area since WWE developmental was moved to Florida Championship Wrestling. Ted DiBiase Jr. and Santino Marella were also recently charged with DUI. In the case of DiBiase, it was following an accident where his car struck another vehicle.
