Rockers Nine Inch Nails have released their brand new studio album The Slip online, allowing fans to download the new LP completely free of charge.

The 10-track record has been made available on the band's official website, with frontman Trent Reznor describing the move as a special treat for their supportive fans.

Writing on the site, Reznor says, "As a thank you to our fans for your continued support, we are giving away the new Nine Inch Nails album one hundred per cent free, exclusively via nin.com.

"The music is available in a variety of formats... all free. All downloads include a PDF with artwork and credits."

The CD and vinyl versions of the album will also be hitting stores later this summer (08).

Reznor continues, "For those of you interested in physical products, fear not. We plan to make a version of this release available on CD and vinyl in July. Details coming soon."

Nine Inch Nails first embraced the digital age with the release of their instrumental LP Ghosts I-IV through their website in March (08). Fans were offered the chance to 'pay-what-you-like' for that particular album.
