ROH announced two big matches recently for their return to Connecticut on June 3. ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson will defend his title against Homicide. Danielson and Homicide haven't wrestled since Danielson defeated Homicide in a Steel Cage match to win their best of five series last year. Homicide is going into this match with momentum, as he joined ROH in the fight against CZW at ROH's most recent event on May 13 in Edison, N.J. when he defeated Necro Butcher. Austin Aries & Roderick Strong will defend the ROH Tag Team Titles against Jay & Marc Briscoe in a rematch from May 13, which was said to be an excellent match.
-ROH announced that they have decided to put the Top Five Rankings, which haven't been utilized to name challengers to the ROH World Title consistently for a long period of time, on hiatus. ROH hasn't been consistent in the ways they determine contenders for the ROH World Title, as they've largely ignored the Top Five Rankings and named challengers for Danielson through the open contracts he sends out to other promotions. ROH has also put wrestlers who were not in the Top Five Rankings such as A.J. Styles, Colt Cabana, and Delirious in matches with Danielson with little or no storyline build.
