The Ring of Honor Toronto, Ontario debut has over 1,000 tickets sold in advance, which is a phenomenal advance for the company's Canadian debut on Friday 7/25. Obviously, their tapes airing on the Fight Network has helped exponentially. Scheduled for the show is Canadian native Kevin Steen challenging Nigel McGuinness for the ROH title. Smart to use the "hometown kid" angle there.

Also scheduled for Toronto is ROH Tag Team champs Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black of the Age of the Fall will face Jay Briscoe and Austin Aries in a No DQ, Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli, plus Lance Storm in a non-wrestling role, FIP champ Roderick Strong, Pro Wrestling NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji and Go Shiozaki, Delirious, Erick Stevens, Chris Hero, Larry Sweeney, The Vulture Squad and more.

ROH will tape their October 2008 PPV on Saturday 7/26. Regarding the PPVs being taped so early, part of the reason is that ROH has to hand in a final tape 30 days before it airs for In Demand to approve. If it has to be in their hands in September, ROH needs to tape in advance so they can edit the raw footage and post-produce. Announced thus far for 7/26 is Claudio Castagnoli challenging the ROH champion, Tyler Black vs. Bryan Danielson (so Black is being put in a position to have another incredible PPV bout), plus the same crew from Toronto, including Lance Storm.
