The overall increase in revenue was because the game debuted on the PS3, Wii and DS last year. This was almost one-quarter of THQ's revenue for the year and shows how devastating losing the franchise will be for the company. WWE is moving away from THQ at the end of its contract in 2010, which led to THQ acquiring rights to UFC. While the new UFC game is expected to do very well, many don't feel it will bring in the kind of revenue that WWE has brought in over the years due to its easier understanding curve, more television exposure and greater popularity among children.
