Two 20-year-old Lindenhurst men were caught trying to steal chairs from backstage at the Nassau Coliseum after a professional wrestling show Sunday night, police said.

And when a World Wrestling Entertainment worker attempted to stop them from stealing the WWE chairs, one of the suspects allegedly staged his own violent version of a wrestling brawl, Nassau police said.

One of the suspects hit the WWE worker over the head with a bottle, then bit him on the back, police said.

Keith Powell of South 4th Street and Timothy Vandewater of Gary Street were both arrested and charged with burglary. Vandewater faces an additional charge of assault.

At The Great American Bash Sunday night, the two entered an employees-only area of the Uniondale venue at 10:55 p.m., and "proceeded to remove chairs" belonging to the WWE, a Monday police report said.

The two had already walked out with the chairs when the WWE worker saw them and tried to stop them in the parking lot, police said.

Vandewater then hit the 33-year-old worker with the bottle, causing a cut to his ear, then bit him, police said.

Police arrived and arrested both suspects. The victim did not require immediate medical attention.

The men face arraignment Monday at First District Court, Hempstead.
