Jack White and soul singer Alicia Keys have recorded the next Bond theme tune - Another Way To Die.

The White Stripes frontman and Keys beat Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Grace Jones and Leona Lewis to the honour of performing on Quantum Of Solace.

White, 33, wrote the track and also plays drums on the song.

The pairing is the first duet in Bond soundtrack history.

Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: "We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia, who were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for Quantum Of Solace."

Daniel Craig will star as 007 in the new film, which opens later this year.

White made his name with his sister Meg in the US outfit the White Stripes.

Since forming in 1997 they have released six albums - White went on to form the Raconteurs in 2005.

US Grammy Award-winner Keys, 27, first appeared on the music scene in 2001 with her debut album Songs In A Minor.

Previous performers of the Bond theme tune include Dame Shirley Bassey, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney and Wings, Tom Jones, Lulu, Garbage, Tina Turner, Carly Simon, Duran Duran, Nancy Sinatra and Sheryl Crow.

US musician Chris Cornell recorded You Know My Name - the theme tune for Casino Royale, the last spy film in the hit franchise.
