DIMITAR BERBATOV has pleaded with Tottenham to let him join Manchester United.
The Red Devils looked in desperate need of a world-class striker yesterday when they were held 1-1 by Newcastle.
While Chelsea made the early Premier League running as Deco helped them to a 4-0 rout over Portsmouth.
Spurs are demanding £30million for Berba, who slapped in a transfer request on Friday. But United will go no higher than £25m.
Berbatov said: “I’m now in Tottenham but no one can disagree with me wanting to follow my dream.”
Spurs boss Juande Ramos started the Bulgarian, 27, on the bench in the 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
But Berbatov said: “I’m not angry about the decision of Juande Ramos to name me as a substitute. I’m not crying.
“I only show my emotions to my close friends and family.
“But if I was laughing when I was on the bench, people would say I was an idiot.
“I noticed that Eric Cantona never smiled but I don’t know if anyone ever asked him why he didn’t look happier.”
Berba’s agent Emil Dantchev added: “We have two weeks until the end of the transfer window. I think this will be the most important week.”
